Can you help????
I have a 16 month old daughter who stays with me at weekends who loves cats. ( yes im a s.a.s dad)
I started to leave food out in the garden to entice cats so she can stroke and pet them, as she loved nothing more.
This started about six months ago and now i am faced with upto ten cats in my garden at feeding time. As i look into the garden i can see six already waiting. Now i dont mind cats but do mind "The walk of death" to put the food out being bitten and sprayed.
My daughter has now moved onto dogs, or gogs as she calls them No longer paying any attention to the cats.
How do i get rid of them without breakin the law. ????????
If they're feral, shoot the little darlings.
If not, stop feeding them, buy a dog and frighten the little blighters away.
Finally, stop feeding them and scatter animal repellant around the garden.
Always remember though a wise man once said' never look a gift pussy in the mouth' or something like that anyway....
Easy Peasy answer
Invite Marcuso round with his bitch, she will run rampant round the garden chasing the cats away and your little one will love Lottie to bits. wink
I have never met marcuso and he may think im a little strange and forward asking to borrow his bitch at feeding time.
get a terrier......make sure the little girl strokes it before it gets covered in bits of cat though....
i dont really want to get a dog, because she will be bored of that in a couple of weeks and dont know what to get after that to kill the dog.
Get an empty bottle of washing up liquid, clean it thoroughly first, then use it to spray the cats around feeding time. Place CDs around the garden, especially where they get in and it should frighten them away.
As a very last resort, you can pick them up and chuck them over the fence (as long as there's not a 20ft drop on the other side) lol
And don't buy a dog. Dogs won't leave you alone after you do the above.
Send HappyCats round. That oughta scare 'em off!!
wink
to be rally annoying, we have some kittens that will be ready in 6 weeks ! that is if your daughter decideds to like them... ;) lol

Stop feeding them..... they'll soon find somewhere else to go.
you don't sound nasty enough to shoot them like someone has suggested.. mad
Don't call in the RSPCA , as they seem to have a habit of rounding up "stray" cats and putting them down.... which has annoyed quite a few owners who have lost their cats in this way.
Hope it sorts out... cats are wonderful... as you can tell, i am biased!

I knew of an old woman who got a goat to catch the dog lol
Pepper!
squirt the blighters with it and they won't be back
Oh and while you're at it - try it on Happy Cats too lol

Why not organise a munch for 'em then tip off all the local un-neutered Toms. That'd prove interesting if nothing else
Do I get me slap now? :rascal: :rascal:

Im trying to get rid of them, not giving them a good time. God, they would never go away.

Aww! That's cruel! smackbottom If it goes in their eyes or nose, it can lead to very painful infections.
Stop feeding them and squirt them with cold water each time them come into the garden. It's the most humane way of dealing with them.
It may take a while but since it was you who encouraged them into the garden, you can hardly expect them to stop coming overnight confused
Failing that, if you suspect they are feral, you could try the Cats Protection people. Look in your phone book for a local branch.
They can round them up and take them away, but unlike the RSPCA, they won't put them down unless they are beyond help healthwise.
I'm with Postie on this one. You never know the charms of a cat until you have one . . . or in our case five of them :P

How about truckers? :P
I think you can buy these cat deterent ultrasonic noise maker things at places like Garden Centres and B&Q. They make a noise cats don't like, but we can't hear.
Just stop feeding them
They have got into a routine of coming to your house for food.....they will soon stop if food is not forthcoming
Might take a couple of weeks
in the meantime have a friend who has a dog come in and scent mark the garden
that should help to

I tried stopping putting food out and what happened, they thought i was playing a game and went through my bins. Nice to wake up to, not.
then shoot them again biggrin
Try putting notices up in big cock-off letters with a black skull and crossbones on a crimson background (all in flashing neon lights of course) and see if they get the message? dunno
Just (another) idea! redface surprisedops::oops::oops:

So glad Kitty hasn't seen this................yet

isn't called "the mother in law"
All the approprtiate answers have been given already, but in short:
1 - Stop feeding them they will then go home!
2- Use a water gun.
3 - Find a friend with a dog and let it run round you garden and leave its smells over the place.
Simple really!
