, you,re just hoping that someone will explain it to you 
. Which sport do you need explaining about ? Football or Rugby

I was just having a laugh with you gals, most of my mates don't understand the rules of sport and I am the last to cast aspersions.
Don't want to be accused of making this a football thread (heaven forbid) and also, have to admit I watched the first half of the NFL superbowl last night and THAT confused me to hell! :giveup:
Give me rugby any day!!

You will be considered offside if:
You do not leave at least one opposition player (plus the goalkeeper) between you and the oppostion goal. You must be at least level with the last defender/opponent, but cannot stray beyond the line of that player. You must also be in the opposition half of the pitch. The rule does not apply dierctly from a throw in.
I think that covers it- might have to brush up on my refereeing skills however!

Dambuster's the one in our household who doesn't know anything about football - or any ball sports for that matter.
He asked me on Saturday why some of the Rugby players were wearing "those silly hats" :roll:
But to be fair he now knows that Franz Ferdinand doesn't play for England :lol:

Don't want to hijack the thread but he is missing out. I can offer him a game if you would like to consider it. It is NOT the violent, destructive game it appears. He would actually find it a very structured, disciplined game, played by gentlemen!
BTW there are also lots of ladies playing rugby too?
