also a verification would also not show you if the people did or did not meet other people or if they went to organised meets or not.
having said that thoe a 100% bar for meetings/or organised meetings would do if it was included on there profile as this would help in looking for people that would meet up or would not do so
most people that go to organised meetings or just meets would have a rating between 75-100% on there profile and would be easily achievable by newbies and others alike if they appeared at events or just to meet up with people
those that dont wouldnt have any % on there profile at all
this way it can still be abused but it gives everybody a better chance in knowing if they meet people or not and the site can check if there trying to verify themselves even thoe there not meeting up with people

On another site we are on (which I wont mention because I'll get told off) they have a verification system which seems to work really well.
If you meet someone, chat on the phone or see them on webcam, other users write a little verification for them ... it tells how you have made contact (in person, cam, phone) the date and how it went. It is your choice whether you want to display it on your profile so of course you dont get to see the negatives.
They also have a photo verification where you send a pic of both of you (if you are a couple) to the site with you holding a piece of paper with your user name written on it. The admin then verify you as genuine which is shown on your profile. These pics are not displayed.
It seems to work well as some people will only arrange a meet with people who have verifications on their profile.

I think its time that SH devised a flowchart to assist randy swingers in their search for successful encounters. You know the kind of thing, Boolean logic, arrows, boxes, decisions; and numerous arrows which go back to where they started, yes lots of those kind of arrows.
And the output box at the end. Wow having finally got there after multiplexing one's way through the maze of decisions, there should be a box containing either a baseball bat; not for object insertion, but to batter your newly found playmate for sending you on a wild goose chase.

This site is easier than our old method of meets,but to expect any system to weed out the chance factor is to ignore human nature.
Agreed but the idea is to minimize the chance factor, you will never eradicate it.
I could probably verify by a simple system 200 people I/we have met in person. Now give a random newbie a list of 1000 random members or the 200 I have verified and I am confident they will be more likely to get a genuine meet from my verified list. If they dont get a meet at least there is a much reduced chance they will get strung along.

Third time in three years? I can hardly even begin to imagine your frustration, but SHREPS is coming in some time soon, so stick with it. I can assure you, once we have a proper system in place, this will never, ever happen to you again.

I understand your frustration. I've also had my time wasted by single guys pretending to be cpls. This doesnt happen anymore. I now ask for a chat with the lady via fone early on. Stops the time wasters and fake couples. Beats any verification system

But I think the point people are trying to make is verification will not stop this happening.....
Way back when I was part of a cpl and using another site we were verified by someone and we had never met or spoken to them.....Purely chatted in what was then the mIRC chatrooms....
So verification is fallable....
At least now you can look back and see what precautions you didn't take and learn from it :thumbup:
For me, there's a fine line anyway bewteen verification, popularity contests and it looking like you've shagged the whole site! It's like when I see people here with 150+ 'Friends'. It screams of 'I'll add/shag anyone'. My Friends on here are people I have got to know off the site in the social sense or people I've shagged and want to shag again - they are people I trust and they are private. I don't need them or anyone else here to say what a great/crap shag I am (delete as appropriate)
People here seem to have started to use the Quickies system as a means of verification. I saw one the other day 'girls, meet this man, he's amazing and won't let you down!' It made me cringe to be honest but I'm sure it works for others
I tend to trust my instincts, referrals and past experience on here for sussing out potential meets and it usually works OK. That said, I have had some wierd, funny and disappointing experiences too. Usually around old photos but then it's easy to politely suggest an Extreme Makeover and walk away... or some up to date pics!
As has been said though, there will always be wankers who arse people about. Too Hot, to be honest it sounds like you had a lucky escape as if somebody will go to those lengths to mislead you and did persuade you to meet, god knows what might have happened!

We have chatted to single guys with a view to meeting. We do all the usual checks, cam and phone. But we have still been let down on more than one occasion.
One particular guy let us down twice as the first time his excuse seemed genuine. Now when I see him in the chat room ( wanking on cam as usual )I just say his name in the room. He vanishes so quick I am sure I can see the smoke coming from the top of my computer screen.
All we can do is privately warn others, which we have done many times. I am sure others do this as well.
Verification has been talked about on here at length, and I have made my feelings known many times, that I think it would have more positives than negatives.
We are on another site where verification works. Of course it will not stop the people who really have no intention of meeting, but IF there were a couple of positives just saying they turned up for the meet, that is better than nothing. At least you would know they had turned up.
But in reality you just have to put it down to bad luck and move on, otherwise it can just make you think, is it really worth it, and it is when things go right.

I didn't really want to get into all the ins and outs of this but yes we did. As it happens we ourselves are not big MSN / webcam users and prefer to get the girls to speak on the phone. We were going down this line but at the time of the initial contact we (Me & Mrs Hot) were apart cos of work committments and we could not webcam together. Time kind of went on and we became so familiar with this "couple" that when I did get home we almost forgot that we had not verified them. As the propoposed meet on Sunday approached we asked for a mobile number for the girls to chat and this was the response that first provoked suspicion:
"Sorry we dont give out phone numbers because *** has been harrassed by people in the past." OK says we, how about a quick web cam? To which the response was made to arrange for a time two days henceforth - after 10pm
Ten past ten on the chosen day we go onto MSN to see that they had left messages at 10 or before. We stayed on line till and sent them an apologetic email that we had missed them.
Following day we get an email saying that it is doubtful *** would want to chat again as she was so angry that we were not there blah, blah, blah
All the suspicions then broke into the realisation that we had been duped and strung along for weeks like a pair of "green" idiots. 100% our fault - accepted - but it does not take away the feeling of humiliation at being conned for so long and not picking up on it.
