not a gripe but more of a query - just checked our advert out and at the bottom it says "The above text has been censored to remove personal details and URLs."
now I've just been through our advert and cannot see why this has been added? we have not put any details (other than what's in the ad) nor have we put in an e-mail or web page addy - so why has this just appeared?
Has anyone else had this happen to them?
not that bothered but it looks as if we've tried to deliberatly break the SH rules when we haven't
Rather than ask in here you could always submit a ticket or pm a moderator or admin to ask. You'd probably get a relevant response to your question.
We had that happen to us
Turns out we had mentioned that we like to talk to ppl via a certain messenger service (we named that service) - and that was not considered as being correct.
We hadnt put any email addys on or anything more precise than the messengers generic name, and so we didnt think we'd broken any rules.
We just named our preference for messenger service and so it was CENSORED!!!
Once we revised the profile so that it no longer named the service all was fine.
Seems a bit pinerkity to us, but hey, there must be a good reason for it .............................................. probably ............. yeah there must be
isnt there?
the same strapline appears at the end of my profile description.
Again merely for mentioning MSN (not my addy, just MSN).
The censorship doesn't have human input - it's a pretty blunt piece of automatic delete and append programming.
The major reason to any of the censorships that are in place is because others would be able to communicate with members without joining the site properly. In other words, they wouldn't have to pay to communicate with other members.
Either you are a long term member or you pay, I'm sure none of you would be keen on those cheating the system
we understand all that but we cannot see what caused this to happen. there was only a minor change to our previous advert - which didn't have the censor tag line!
due to our jobs, w've alwys been ultra discrete as to what goes on the profile, we never say what our e-mail is etc.
while we applaude the idea of no-one cheating the system - it does appear that we have tried to some how.
this is the advert - can anyone point out where we have contravened the rules - and we'll gladly adjust the advert
"Happily married couple, very early 50's but far younger in mind, and a very healthy interest in sex and more sex, are looking for long-term friendship with lots of sexy fun/swapping as a bonus. We're looking to expand our already healthy sexual appetites and , you will be on same wavelength as us and all 4 will decide what is or is not good for the group. Age and looks are not important but it's probably a good idea to be around the same age for things to chat about – do you remember spangles? also need to be local-ish to us and that does not mean more than 150 mile away from us lol. Obviously, a sense of humour and an interest in long-term friendship is important. We are also members of Chams in the West Mids but due to shift work we don’t go on any one specific evening but are quite happy to meet there when we can if you also have accomodation is size 18ish but going down rapidly (especially with the right male she says lol) while he is 6ft tall average build. Please check out our profile for some nights including sensual touching and more can be as important as socialising evenings with the idea of making long-term friends along the same wavelength.
Obviously, cleanliness and discretion etc. goes without saying and is both given and expected.
We are interested in all types of fun except pain, watersports etc. And, although not described as bi - it is something we are willing to explore if the opportunity (and people) are right.
We are willing to travel, as due to family - we cannot accommodate for sexy fun - although there will be no problems in accomodating at ours for any simply socialising us for more info and we'll get together for a chat – and hopefully maybe more!!"
cheers
It is probably something really silly that has caught you by mistake. Admin adds a number of terms to the banned word list as and when they crop up, along with MSN.
For an example
hotmale
or
reverse liamtoh
You could easily have used a word that contained a part of a banned term.
So I do understand that it looks like you have been naughty but that isn't the case, you have just happened upon a banned term
cheers Dawnie - just trying to see what it was - but as the ad reads exatly as what we wrote as shown above ....
oh well, no harm no foul. we'll just have to appear to be one of those damn internet rebels lol
we had this happen to us after mrs cream made a few changes to our add,put in a ticket to admin, they couldn't see what was wrong with it,i'd looked at it and couldn't see anything wrong with it...eventually i realised what she'd done, she'd put "if your miles andmmilesaway" once i'd removed the m from the second miles the warning disappeared.
I had this problem too did ask but never got a reply, any way at least i know now
On the subject of unexpected censorship, an East coast town found that after installing an automatic spam/porn filter into their council IT system they no longer got emails.
It was sCUNTthorpe. :lol2:
(May be an urban myth but it works for me LOL)
it were the full stops and no spaces - I re-did them and hey presto - we no longer rebels - we can go back to being nice quiet folk again :P
