I can confirm that Carrie did indeed go to the munch last night, and is definitely NOT anything like a pancake ;)
Yes I'm still alive! lol
The parachute jump was fantastic. We went up to 13500 feet, did a freefall for 8500 feet and then opened the parachute for the last 5000 feet! OMG - did I really do that?!?!?!?
I would like to say a MASSIVE thank you (especially to Alex kiss) to all who donated at the Munch last night. We raised
I have put some photos below which Db took at the airfield (hope they work!!). I did have the 'jump' videoed (sp) and had some stills taken too. When I receive these, in about 7 to 10 days, I'll see if I can get some of them on here too. There should be some of me doing the freefall bit - eyes closed, one eye open and both eyes open
Many people who couldn't make it to the Munch have asked for details of ways to donate directly to the Charity. If you click on the link below, it will take you to the donations page of the CancerBACUP web site. On there is a space for you to complete the reason for donation. Anyone who does donate, can I be so cheeky as to ask you to put my name (ooh here goes - Caroline Barber) in the box so that the sponsorship money is allocated to my jump. Thank you.

OMG - I'm still alive rotflmao
Once again, thank you all so much for your generosity

Hiyas Carrie ann,
WELL DONE,
All charity work is worthwhile no matter how much is raised.
I, at the moment, worked for a charity.
I feel it is all worthwhile even when i had my head shaved.
Keep up the good work hun xx

i can't see the piccies  but you were fantastically brave! i'd soooooo love to give it a go, but if that was the way you were meant to get out of a plane it wouldn't need wheels and those rollaway steps they have at airports would it?
well done, brilliant!
n x x x ;-)
CarrieAnn
I am so glad you managed to get a good total. If I could have stayed longer I'd have taken the bucket round again! The more drunk they get - the quicker they forget they have already donated.
Many thanks to those who contributed twice (or even 3 times) - I don't give up easy do I?
Hmmmmm Easy was never mine to give up anyway ........ Mrs Easy is a lucky woman wink
....sorry I digress rolleyes
Many congrats to Carrie, from what you said of your fear of heights - you are doubly courageous! It was an honour to help last night!

Hi CarrieAnn, I have just seen the pics in the new link - they're wonderful. It was great to chat with you at the munch. I'm sure if it was me jumping I would have taken quite a few hours before I could talk to anyone. smile
Well done again, and I hope you keep on collecting a nice lot of money for the cause - you deserve it!
Mike.
This thread has even more relevance today for me.
My sister already has cancer, but is in remission.
But yesterday we also found out that my brother in law also has cancer. Only discovered a few days ago, but already so far advanced that they may only be able to give palliative care.
So - please everyone - if you haven't donated to Carrie's charity yet - please please do so - it can happen to a loved one at any time!
Much love, Alex x x
Thanks for all the congrats and support everyone - maybe we can do a SH parachute event sometime in the future rotflmao
Alex - I am so sorry to hear your news. If you want to chat, please feel free to PM me. Have loads of hugs and kisses and cuddles from me and
<<<<<<<<<<< will say a prayer for your sister and brother in law.
