whats with the new chatroom! my computer nearly comes to a standstill when entering the new chatroom what size of computer do u need to operate the chatroom? ive got two comps and both are brand new and neother of them can cope with the chatroom please help!!!

A quick guide to working round the chatroom speed problems:
1) Try closing all other applications, especially anything like BitTorrent that puts demands on your net connection.
2) When you first go into chat, don't click anything for the first 2 minutes, to let your client catch up with the sever completely.
3) Every 5 minutes, go to chat tools and 'clear the chat' (IMHO the existence of this option shows the programmer knew the program was botched!)
4) Avoid busy times.
5) Write short lines, anything longer than 8 words might need to be split in two.
6) When it slows down too much, leave the chat room, then go back in again (not forgetting to wait 2 minutes when you go back before doing anything).

It seems to me that the problem lies with the browser while viewing chat. all my other web applications run fine while connected but it's the browser using all the CPU on your PC. I noticed this when i got my new PC which handles the demands of the browser without a problem. Sorry to sound techy but it's what i've found and on my new PC everything runs fine.

yes... to be specific, it's the Flash plug-in inside the browser that's the problem, it is a complete resource-hog!

yeah i did try tweaking the flash settings but it didnt help, flash is usually pretty good but this is firs time i've dealt with text and webcam chat.
