Chatroom blunder

Tonight I was talking in the chatroom and in pm to a very special woman. This pm was a very personal conversation.......
and this prat, went and put the text in the wrong box and sent it into the main room. Of course, the expected piss-take did occur and my horror hit me when I realised what had happened. Not because of what I put up, as I would gladly shout from the roof-tops how I feel about this woman, but what she may have thought and the embarressment she might have felt.
Have any of you put anything up in the chatroom that you thought "oh sh1t" after realising it went in the wrong box?
Oh......on a seperate note.....Somehow or other I logged on the other day, and my name appeared as my password (that has now been changed). My password was my daughters name.............and I got 5 pm's in quick succession as the mods were helping me in #shhelp to sort out my cock-up. I know what you ladies have to put up with now......and I do feel sorry for you.

dunno wot you're on about dave. never ever done that oh no!

never ever ever posted a complete feckin' rant in pm and discovered it on the main board, and scrambled madly after the delete button before it got read and quoted, oh no. certainly not only a day or two ago! redface

and certainly never ever been juggling chatroom pm's or messenger windows, and sent something disgusting to some poor unsuspecting innocent, who previously thought i was all nice and charming till they read the stream of pornographic filth suddenly popping up in their window! surprised

Oh, Dave. Poor you. Here are some pointers for you, learned by experience.
1- Never IM with your mum at ther same time as you IM with anyone else. Ever.
2- Get a spare keyboard for your cat, if you have a cat. This avoids fighting over the one you are trying to use. Cats can type all kinds of filth, given the chance.
3- If you have several chat windows open and are cybering more than one at once, do not, under any circumsrtances think it might be clever to copy and paste your responses. You will manage to say something you shouldn't, to the wrong person. (see 1)
4- Er....
5- That's it.

I agree with you, cats can be a pest when you are typing, i was on viewing on the web cab the other day, and the person at the other end was suffering from a cat trying to type as well, so it well known cats need their own keyboard!

Don,t worry Dave i,ve done that as well...i was talking to a guy we,ve never met but he lives near so we used to chat whenever i went into the chatroom ..i thought he,d dissappeared cos he was at work so went back into the room but kept his box open redface

then when he returned istarted to chat to him but sent it into the room surprised

and it's a very special kind of 'oh sh1t' feeling don't you find? A sort of oh no! what have i just done? can i undo it? no, oh sh1t, do you think they'll notice?' type of feeling! closely related to the 'oh no i've just overwritten my life's work with a picture of Homer Simpson and i have no backup' feeling, except with the added embarassment of an audience.
A potential meet with a demure manchester lass was once scuppered on account of "the wrong MSN window / cut and paste" classic. Guess I should have given her my undivided attention! confused

Oops nearly posted a PM on the forum. I have never done that however I did at work pm my boss with a PM meant for a best mate from UNI. Lets say it wasnt to complementary of my boss. OOOPPPSSS redface

I tend to keep 1 screen open at a time stops such incedents haperning.
