I must say I found the chatroom a bit unfriendly. Well over 100 people, about half of them Guest nicks. Got no response to repeated attempts to join in what little conversation there was, not even a hello.
Ice pie... ( tongue is firmly in cheek here).... Not sure if you are M or F.... you nick could be either but I some how suspect M..... so why not try being an f.... employ some sexy nic.... and go in and say hi.... you will have guys and if you are lucky bi fems all over you

Pretend to be female? Hmmmm, not sure I could pull it off, if you'll excuse the pun. I don't think I particularly want guys all over me unless I'm in an evil wind-up sort of mood (which is not altogether unheard of) and as for bi women, I've no doubt they'd spot a fake a mile off. I think I'm probably just used to being well known in some other chatrooms... I'd forgotten what it was like being a stranger.Best regards,

As a regular to the room for the last six months or more, then maybe I could suggest why the room seemed unfriendly. You need to understand the different types of chatter in the room.
Firstly the regular roomies. In there almost every night, known personally to many of the other roomies either having met them, or planning to meet each other. - boy these munches are a godd place to meet folks!.
The newbie. Known to nobody, and just dropped into the room to see what it's all about.
The &%$£?@, comes in to cause trouble, normally doesn't stay very long, exit it quite swift.
In light of the recent unwanted publicity, many of the regulars now will not chat to anybody new. For safety they stick to talking (mainly in private) to those they already know.
The room moderators (sorry folks I don't like sysops) used to have time to say Hi, welcome new ppl to the room etc etc, but at the moment its firefighting to the extreme just to try and keep the peace.
My suggestion to getting in with the crowd is to come back a few times so the regulars get to see you. But make sure you are fully aware of the correct chat room etiquette and are familiar with the room's rules.
I guess you could liken the chat room to bar room of a local. Have you ever walked into a strange pub, notice the conversation stop dead and think maybe you wern't welcome? Well we're not that bad, but are very aware of new chatters and theur motives for being in the room.
