ok - i got a real craving yesterday and scoured the shops in the hope of finding what was my fave choccy bar as a teenager and i couldnt find one anywhere!
spira - cadburys thing similar to a twirl but (and here is the disgusting part) - to have with a hot chocolate you could use the bars as a straw! - yum!
so what chocolate bars/crisps/snacks do you remember loving but which have since been lost in the snack food evoloutionary cycle?
For me it has to be Wagon Wheels. I know you can still get them but they don't look or taste the way they did.
On a related note, I loved the bit in Life on Mars the other night when the 70's copper was sitting in his car sucking on a Sherbert Fountain! Brings back all sorts of memories.
Yes I remember a Spira or was it Sprial... can't remember but it tasted good!
I would like to see the return of the Texan bar and lets see how much damage we can do to our fillings! lol
Can anyone remember 'counters' and 'treats'?
Think I was the only child in the universe that loved coffee walnut whips. I miss them sooooo much
And I know its not chocolate but remember Space Dust? We used to dare eachother to take a mouth full then a gulp of Coke to see if your head really would explode :giggle:

:laughabove: then roll around the floor killing yourself laughing with a mouth clogged up with crackly stuff!?? yes been there lol
ooh!
youve just reminded me! weren wagon wheels HUGE when i was a kid? or is it just that i have got bigger?
and i used to love Frys 5 centres (or something similar it was called - like a frys chocolate cream but a different filling in each section).
my all time fave sweeties though has to be kali and spanish! - some yorkshire folk may know what i am going on about! and i found a proper sweet shop round here that still sells it too! yum

I had my first Wagon Wheel for many many years the other day. OMG I had a sugar rush. What the hell do they put in those things?
I loved Sherbet Fountains too - remember Bill Oddie on THe Goodies tripping on them?

That is very spooky! When I saw this thread, the first choccy bar to sring to my mind was the Spira!
AND I used to use it as a straw to drink my coffee. redface
Also does anyone remember Vice Versas? Similar to Minstrels but some were white chocolate and others were milk chocolate?

I guarantee you'll buy something!!!
