I'm afraid I smoke and drink (not as often though) so can give you no practical advice whatsoever keeno but good luck with it all :thumbup:

The Pogues are an Irish band. Fronted by gapped toothed songster Shane McGowan (now in The Popes)
Their name means kiss my arse in Gaelic well they were called that until the BBC realised and banned them they then changed it to The Kiss (The Pogues)

I`ve been stopped smoking for nearly 11 years now and its all to do with my hubby. when we met and i gave up smoking because i didnt want to smell like an ashtray, so for me it was pretty easy.
Good luck to steve and shireen and anyone else who wants to stop for most people its not an easy thing to do.

alan carr's easy way to stop smoking ..worked 4 me good luck its not easy but you will feel sooo much better 4 it and you will save yerself a fortune!

I've resolved to stop this weekend. Last fag Friday evening then clean from there on.
My ex rang last night and though I was messed up by her I didn't resort to alcohol or smoking. One up to me. :happy:

The trouble is I enjoy it and I know I should give up (I was TOLD by my doctor in no uncertain terms to give up in my early twenties due to breathing problems) but I enjoy it I've given up other vices over the years and quite frankly found them easy to go without. Right off the back of this thread I've decided to try and cut down some how, giving up isn't an option as far as I can see for reasons I've already stated. However I smoke 40 a day and it's way too much so my solution is .............
I smoke those fags in the white pack with the red stripes down them they are my No1 favourite smoke lol

But I've decided to switch to the same brand but a slightly shorter version (you know the ones I mean) that way I'm smoking the same number but actually getting less of an intake each time. Maybe it'll work maybe it won't but I'm trying all the same :?
However the down side is the woman in the village shop is doing her nut I've completely fooked up her stock take as its a small area I live in and they are used to buying to suit demand so she now has a shelf full of my old fags and none of my new ones left as no one else smokes em :lol: :lol: :lol:
