This is the way most places on the Internet, not to mention the world, operate - someone is in charge, and people who aren't in charge follow rules set out by those who are in charge. Yes, there are some places - for example, many newsgroups - that are run on a community basis without anyone in charge, but these are comparatively rare.

Hmmm 2 weeks and 24 posts - that makes you some sort of expert?
If you try to chat more and not to antagonise .. at least 5 of the posts you've made are on threads about cliques and bad feeling.
As you get to know more people and people get to know you you'll quickly find friendships springing up and in 6 months you'll be accused of being cliquey!!!
If you persist in having a go at the people with saracastic comments I can see you quickly being asked to leave

If you think there's a "clique", why not start your own "clique"??? FFS, it's not difficult to understand if you substitute the word "clique" with "friends".... What I mean is, people who already know each other on here talk to each other. It takes newbies a while to get into it - so what???? It's just like real life, you have to get to know people! Why not start chatting to other newbies and make your own friends. Surely, that's common sense!

As to how the site works - the cafe is a social place. As has been said, if you just want meet ups, stick to the meet up section or the photo ads.... if you want to chat, stay here.

I think the point he was trying to make was that he'd been away for so long (due to technical difficulties) that people may have forgotten who he was (as if rolleyes ). It was posted in a light-hearted manner and wasn't really a re-introduction, just an excuse to bump his post count......... :doh: sorry we DON'T have a post count any more (dig at admin wink ).
We are a little clicky (probably the cold, damp weather lol ), but it's to be expected when posting on a site that involves parts of peoples lives that most would rather keep private and considering we do get visits from journos from time to time. :uhoh:

I am fairly new to this site, but on the posts I have joined in i've been made to feel pretty welcome. Sure there are times when people might seem rude or clicky, but then if you walked into a room full of people who had know each other for a while, you'd get the same.

Ahh but that's the beauty of a site like this .. it promotes tolerance. Some of us are purely after a quick fuck .. others after longer term friends and bed buddies, others prefering the general atmosphere and adult humour are just after that.
It takes all sorts to build a community and we do indeed have a community on here ... sex friendship, support, fun times.
You can't have seen all the relationships and friendships on here in one day. It's an intricate web ... but room for everyone smile
You just have to let us know more about you, you're interests, desires, join in and have fun :)

Look, you're posting on a general discussion and chit-chat area. If you just want to arrange anonymous meets, just post a photo ad or in the Let's Meet Up area and I'm sure not one person here will complain. Some of them might even try to meet you. Who knows? You pays your money (or not, on this site), and you takes your choice.
What's happened is you've posted a chit-chatty, "hi everyone" post in Let's Meet Up, and Kristof quite sensibly suggested that chit-chatty stuff in better in the Cafe. Now you're getting hot under the collar at the sight of other people chit-chatting. If you don't want to chit-chat, nobody's going to put a gun to your head and force you.
