Never used one, but i've seen loadsa blokes with em on. There's different ones too, some go around the shaft, often just a big rubber ring, and others go under the scrotum, or both combined. Go to a sex shop and you should find someone will talk you through the variations.

Careful with the ones at the bottom of the shaft though, if you don't get one of decent quality, they can pinch a bit when you least expect it. Not a good look. They can heighten the sensation you get which admittedly, I did like. Not used one for ages though.
I know a guy at work who says he uses ellastic bands. Not sure how true that is but I'd steer clear of that method, no matter how much money it saves you.

don't waste your money i use a number of household items and have found then to be far more effective than sex shop ones as shop ones just don't have the adjustment required. The things i use are a length of lacy ribbon, a lace from my dewalt work boots (please use a new lace), one of my wifes stockings. thay all work in there own way. I have found that i get best results by using a 3 way loop 1st round balls and cock then just balls then just cock but you find your own way & have fun trying or do i mean tying

We've tried a few, the durex vibro ones are ok but the band needs to be slightly thicker as it cuts in after a short while and gets uncomfortable, tried the basic round rubber ring with simular results to the durex ones, had a stainless ring it was ok but it was not flexible enough and recently bought a doc Johnson silicone ring its quite a thick band and about the best one yet for my size cock(not one to boast) to be honest they do make a cock look magnificent, solid, veiny and a very defined helmet hope that helps.

I have a few different ones. Make your own using soft rope. Use a Midshipmans Hitch Knot (Just search for how to tie a Midshipmans Hitch on an internet video search). I use a 5mm polyester soft rope that you can get from DIY stores. The Midshipmans Hitch is a sliding knot and you can get a nice tight and stimulating feeling with the knot under the scrotum. You can also tie another Midshipmans Hitch on the other end of the rope to go over the shaft. With the sliding knot you can really get the veins standing out.
