Come back door to door salesmen, all is forgiven (rant)

I haven't seen a double glazing salesman in years.
I've just realised why not - They've all gone into Single Issue Politics.
In the past 3 days there've been 7 people on the doorstep wanting to talk about:
Mobile phone masts (tag team)
Fox Hunting (x2 - both sides)
MMR
Special School Provision
Local Policing
and not one of them has been willing to accept that either I don't have a view and/or my view is diametrically opposed to theirs.
What's the point ? If I want to sign a petition, I'll sign it. If not, it's pretty unlikely that 2 minutes of uninformed 'argument' is going to sway my opinion !

(useful discovery: If you steer the conversation onto one of the other SIP pet hates they get confused and run away :twisted: )

What I do not understand, is despite a notice NEXT to the bell that says... I am a nightworker so PLEASE NO DOOR SALES OR SURVEYS ETC, they STILL ring the bell and say, " Oh sorry, did I wake you up "... By the way, i know quite a few swear words, which often come in handy mad
