LP were supported by Lostprophets and they ROCKED!!!!

I was in a band that supported Lost Prophets a few years ago before they'd properly made it. They were great live. Their first album's awesome, but I worry that they're going to commericalise a bit too much now.
I agree with that Tris, I worry they are getting too commercial but the second album was damn good too so I just hope they are successful by sticking to their style of music without ending up mainstream and crass. Funeral For A Friend are also damn good and I'll be keeping an eye on Bullet for my Valentine too, lots of good stuff coming out of Wales over the last few years.
id like to add
The Libertines (secret gig) - The Arena, Middlesbrough 2004

Heres a few bands that i have seen and were AWESOME...
Skid row

Girl I hear ya on this one ... I've seen them twice and both times they rocked, once when they supported Bon Jovi and the second time when they supported GNR at Wembley. Not seen them since then, but after Bas left I kinda lost interest rolleyes
I saw Alice Cooper either last year or the year before (when Thunder and the Darkness supported) and he blew me away, I couldn't believe my eyes!
Anyone seen Foo Fighters or RHCP? They're next on my list (after, ahem, Kylie :embarrased2: )

Seen the RHCP, a few times...always good value. Shame they only play enormodomes and stadiums these days. Fantastic watching them at the Hummingbird in B'ham years ago when Mothers Milk came out, covered in DayGlo bodypaint (the band, not me smile!!)

That reminds me, for any Manics fans who have only ever seen them at arenas (as in the last few years) they are playing Wolverhampton very soon , where if you`re lucky the capacity is about 2 or 3 thousand. Best time to catch bands is on their way up or on their way down.
oh, thought of another awesome gig:
Pitchshifter supported by Sikth, last november at the astoria.
Had never got the chance to see Pitchshifter before their split, so was really happy to see them playing again.
I's actually seen the drummers from Sikth (Dan Foord) and Pitchshifter (Jason Bowld) at a drummers festival (drummerlive) in October, and they both blew me away. When I found out both their bands were playing the same gig a month later I just knew I had to be there. It was amazing!

S had the chance to see the Manics at the Charlotte in Leicester, when she was at Uni, before they were famous...and passed up on it. They would have been good then, rather than the bloated stadium rockers they became once Richey 'left'. We saw them at 'V' a few years ago and gave up and went and watched James Brown instead !

Got REM booked for a couple of weeks time ....... recently seen Rufus Wainwright in Sheffield - he's going to be really big soon.... Best concert: Bob Dylan, Manchester 2002 & (ironically) worst concert Bob Dylan, Glasgow 1991!
I've got my tickets for the Isle of Wight festival and T in the Park booked - Green Day are on at the T so that means I don't really need the ticket I've got to see them at MK on 18th June - so if anyone is interested in buying it off me then get in touch.

Agree with that one, we saw them too and it irritated me that they played so fast.
Haven't seen that many and none recently. Aim to change that this year, especially if the white stripes come back and do the UK again.
Most memorable concerts would be
Red Noise, Lancaster University, 1979
Bob Marley, Crystal Palace Bowl, 1980 - perhaps his last concert in the UK (?)
and Al Green somewhere small in London around 1984 or so.
best would be psychic tv at the forum last summer... mind blowingly good, like seeing the velvet underground at the peak of their powers. the fall, dec 03 would be a close second.
as for the bad ones - i don't really remember 'em, but a david bowie tribute band i saw 3 or 4 years ago probably takes the prize...

Kate Bush

Saw BeBop on the Drastic Plastic tour at Preston. My first concert as it happens. Good one too but the Red Noise one had that touch more excitement, for me at least.
Kate Bush, never saw her live but I'm not surprised to see her on someone's list. I certainly wish I'd seen her in '78.
Best - Madonna at the Paris Bercy, September 4th 2004.
Worst - David Essex - Llandudno North Wales Theatre - 1988
I could go on.......but not now eh?
hmmm, it has to be siouxsie and the banshee's...1983, royal albert hall.....those were the days
Best Pink Floyd, brick in the wall tour in Rio - loud as, and very visual too. I saw the Harlem Globe Trotters the next night too  biggrin - not quite the same :D
Also Queen - a brilliant live performance, at some yank football stadium but can't for the life of me remember where redface
In my younger days I saw Gary Glitter and the glitter band, mud, sweet (all pretty poor performances in what ammounted to a performance in a cinema or theater rolleyes and David Bowie (He was bloody good) and the average white band - they were damn good live too and................Earth, Wind and Fire  now that was an over the top performance! - what outfits! cool
I have been to so many over the years, but four that stand out
Bruce Springsteen at Wembley
Zeppelin at Knebworth
Rush at Hammersmith
Stones at Wembley
Some of the worst really surprised me
Dire Straits at the NEC - everyone just sat there and watched Mark Knopfler do his stuff. Just no atmosphere.
Meat Loaf - The first hour was incredible, but after that he ran out of puff and just could not sing
Deep Purple at Knebworth - sat in a muddy field all day next to a Frenchman eating raw bacon. Once again Blackmore did his usual trick and made everyone wait until he could be bothered to turn up on stage
Best was Springsteen at Wembley the week before Live Aid ... Slade at Hammersmith Odeon in 73 ... Any Squeeze gig was always excellent entertainment!
As for Bryan Adams! What a wanker! He bought our local pub and then closed it down so as not to disturb his sleep in his nearby apartment! Knob! He then wondered why people would piss on his Porsche! wink

Just brilliant - it was that one where some knobhead got on the roof of the stage - or am I just losing my memory?
May have been! But since the tinitus kicked I remember very little! lol
