Does the Avatar image confuse you when you’re a newcomer? When I see an Avatar with parts of female body, naturally I assume that person is a she. Then I’m taken by surprise when I read the post to find that the person is a he.
Also I confuse with some less obvious body images as male. :doh: Some Avatar images are neutral but your mind still conjures up image of that person being male or female without bothering to check the username first. Okay what a Pratorama! I thought someone was a woman, then a man, now I know she’s a woman, I think I’ve got it right this time. :confused:

Yes, some are certainly confusing, from his avatar you would think that Sgt. Bilko is young, suave, wears a hat, is good looking, has no colour in his cheeks, and is funny, but...
I've never seen him wear a hat!
Seriously, the worst thing about avatars is when you are looking for a particular persons post, but can't find it because they have changed their avatar.

I agree avatars can confuse but then so can some nicks ....its oftn hard to tell someones gender or sexual orientation. It would be also helpful to know who just wants to chat, who may want some action and who wants both....
