Hi everone,
I have just put contact lenses in for the first time - it feels really strange cos I have worn glasses for the past 18 years!!!
Will the strangeness wear off???? hHow do you know if they are in correctly???
I guess I just need a little reassurance.

Been wearing contact lenses for nearly twenty years, your eyes will get use to them soon enough!....i gather your getting use to having better vision as the lense lies on your eye rather than a cm away as with glasses.
Are children allowed to wear contact lenses? Just wondered because my daughter's been asking if she can have some instead of glasses next time she goes to get her eyes tested. She's almost 15, is that too young?
i keep thinging of mybe changing to contacts but its the idea of practically sticking a finger in my eye that keeps putting me off.
I would love to wear contacts but cant stand the thought of putting anything in my eyes. I even struggle with eye drops.
Do get use to putting them in?.
Oh, just a word of warning:
Bukake fans, either remove your lenses or shut your eyes tight. I am reliably informed that jism under your contact lenses bloody hurts!
The only time I where spec's is for driving,
At the moment I feel taht i might have to star wearing them all the time, YUCK. I might actually look interlectual.
I dont think i cud be trused whereing contatcs i would forget to take them out ;)
Anyway can wait to c u now olive.

Thanks Guys for all your messages.
Tracy - Jayne yes i spent ost of the evening poking myself in the eye!!!!
Hungryp it was surprisingly easy to get used to the puting your finger in your eye bit!
And I keep thinking I have forgotten somethiing
I am using daily wear lenses which removes the need for cleaning etc, I just use them once and then throw them.
I have to admit though it was quite comforting puting my faithful old glasses back on when I got home!
Hi Olive,
I've been wearing contacts for 22 years. Had them at 15. Mine are gas-permeable, allowing oxygen thro to the cornea and pupil. You have to build up your wearing time gradually, not just stick them in and wear all day. If you don't like pulling your eye to get them out, ask your optician for a little plunger thing. attach to lens, squeeze gently and lens comes out on end of plunger thing..... easy.... Good luck, and don't forget they do them in all colours too......

Been wearing contacts on and off for 10 years now. I greatly prefer the one day disposable types - it's a major hassle to be careful with cleaning them every day and stuff.
I've reached a point where I can pretty much forget I'm wearing them, but I'm still so used to glasses..I tend to just be more mentally comfortable with them, and wear them more often.
A friend of mine has extended wear lenses that she wears all the time, even when sleeping, for a month, then she throws them away and wears glasses for a day before the new pair..
