Hi
I was just wondering how many of you remember the pre-internet days when swinging took place largely through contact advert sections in magazines like Experience and Private. I can remember them still being around in the late-1980s. I can also remember that meeting people was one very large leap of faith because often you had only a single photo to go by. rolleyes
A couple of our very early experiences were through this type of mag. Come to think of it, I think the ad section we used was in the back of a "stories" mag.
Up until recently, we used to get a contacts mag through the post every 6 months or so. This was because I put an ad in some time before. About 6 years before..... rolleyes
I remember those mags too 'Rendezvous' was my fave wink
I have just remembered that the contact magazines also contained adverts from 'ladies' offering their used knickers for sale. There seemed to be quite a market. I recall one guy being convicted of obtaining money under false pretences when he posed as a lady selling her knickers. lol

I had a number of contacts via magazines like Experience and Vibrations during the 80s. During the 90s contact ads in Loot, the classified ads paper, became the more favoured way, in the London area at least. Often the "leap of faith" as you put it, the lack of photos, made the anticipation of meeting up more exciting.
We "started" with Desire mag - perhaps 6-7 years ago - just reading.... Then 4 years or so ago placed an ad.
ZERO response.
Replied to a few.
ZERO response.
Gave up then found the internet.
Our subscription expired 3 years ago and they still sent it through every month! (though it split into desire & desire contacts).
Only last month we got a letter saying they were stopping sending it and would we like to pay! LOL! Think they forgot to remove us ;)
my ex wife was very popular with the Rendezvous readership... one bloke even came all the way from South wales to meet her... on average she met three a month from the mag... fun times....
