It's difficult to get to know someone first enough to be comfortable with them. She doesn't want our first one to be with someone we know or are likely to meet again (unless we wish to). She'd feel less nervous about it that way..... He wants to make sure she's entirely comfortable with the situation.

Very simular to us, we have been waiting so long now, the nerves have long gone, and frustration has taken over lol....
We made sure we talked long about it, and make sure if you have any boundries, that both are aware of them before you start looking.

There is no obligation to 'join in'. Lots of people just go to watch ... it's a good way of getting into the scene. You certainly wouldn't be kicked out.

Why don't you take a look at this thread There are a whole host of people from here going on that night, I can assure you that if you 'bottled it' on the night then you culd quite easily spend the night chatting away to people in the bar and not feel odd about it.
