Can someone please tell me why people advertise as a couple and post only pictures of the female partner on their profile but when you contact them you get the answer "female is not playing at hte moment". Is it so hard to amend the profile to reflect this and thereby save a lot of time.
I'm afraid it goes with the territory....the site seems to be full of these "single male" couples. Occasionally there is a genuine guy, with a free membership, and they just aren't together any more....but as you say, a few moments amending the profile would pretty much clear the confusion. It's usually the ploy of a guy trying to get attention, via the ghost female, very often just for chat....but who knows what these guys are thinking, just don't have any truck with them until they become honest.
Yes I agree there are genuine guys who's partner is no longer playing, been there done that, but to change profile only takes a few minutes.
Surprised that details on how to change a profile isn't covered in
http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/swingers-forum/viewtopic/301782.html aka When all else fails - The Oracle thread
However it's pretty easy, so
step 1)
Under My Accountselect :: Settingsor http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/members/my-account.html if easier
step 2)
Under Basic Settings the 4th item is Account Type:, so click the Change button
step 3)
i This section allows you to change your account type. There is a small fee of to change your account type, this is to prevent this facility being abused to make sure changes are only made for genuine reasons. To get started please select what account type you would like to change to and hit the update button.
Choose new type: from the drop down list, then press Continue
step 4)
Follow the onscreen instructions, then press Continue
step 5)
Complete the payment screen

Last time I was drilling the "why have a couples profile if you are now divorced" question with someone in the chatrooms, he said that admin required to talk to departed party before changing the account type (his excuse being that this was hard to achieve as they were no longer in speaking terms). Is that true?

Nope.
The main reason people don't want to change their account type is because there's an 'administration' charge. That's there to stop people from changing their status on a whim to make others believe they're something they're not (holding an account type that is deceitful to others is against the AUP ;)).
On the whole, if it's obvious that the account type is wrong we'll change it to suit.

Because they can, because it is not against site rules, because it is personal choice.
Would we meet them, of course we wouldn't we personally have no interest in people who either dont have pictures or are a couple with pictures of only one partner, but that is our choice.
The same applies to people who have incorrect information in thier profiles, to us swinging requires honesty, so if thier profile is not honest on thier status we wonder what else they will be dishonest about

Not wishing to seem pedantic, but it is against the rules:
Non Acceptable Behaviour.
• Holding an account type that is deceitful to others.

The problem is proving it. confused
If we see a profile which says "just me now 'cos the wife's moved to Outer Mongolia with the milkman", we'll change the account to a single male.
Similarly, if we see an advert on a single account which states they're a couple, we'll remove the ad and let them know they need to update the account to show their correct status.
The trouble is we can't vet every profile and advert, so if you spot a profile like that it would be appreciated if you'd click the 'report' button to let us know.

Thanks will do in future
Rather have the hassle and cost of changing the account type they could make a comment on their profile along the lines of " recently split with partner so now single"
Takes 30 seconds

It took 18 reports to get a certain profile noticed! We only noticed because he kept bugging us and claiming he was 18, but had been a member of this site for many years!
The good thing is the site acted before his 19th birthday, pity he had had at least ten before it!
Sorry what I meant was the more honest profile that states the sort of "now playing on my own" statement, which both men and women have from time to time not the deliberate decietfull ones or even the "I cant be bothered updating it so this will probably be a waste of your time" ones.
Surely there must be couples, who may from time to time like to meet as singles or alone and single males/females who may have buddys who they may team up with to meet others dunno
Of course, your right, but it takes only a minute to add to your profile "18th - 22nd December only male playing or only female playing", we both play on our own, male plays alone or in our case Female play alone, that is what the profile is for, to explain your situation on current variations lol

I have a similar issue with GUys saying they are a couple.
Then In there profile only discussing them selves.
Its just an inconvenience.
I think SH should consider having a Male and female photo with the User ID name in scribbled on a piece of paper.
Saying that i may do that tomorrow!
