I'd not recomend looking at your credit history yourself unless you really need to. If you look at your credit file it puts a mark on it the same as a lender would and therefore shows as being looked at and no lending given which some lenders can view as a bad thing.
If you want to PM me, I might be able to point you in the right direction.
i recently tried the experian free trial and after viewing my credit score at the time of the free trial which was in the 900`s i then checked agin a month later to find my credit score had fallen by about 200 odd points...ouch
Must be ace to be a biggrin
can someone let me know how to check credit without using experian
iv had a problem with getting a buy now pay later offer despite me having plenty of money i was refused (i wanted to have the interest rather than buying it straight off)
i checked with experian and it was a problem with companies registered with it not updating stuff !
however i am aware thatn it doesnt look good if it has been checked frequently
so could somene let me in on the secret on how to check without causing more problems ?

Whilst a 'self check' is recorded on your file, it does NOT add a ‘credit search’ that any potential lender can see, so therefore has NO impact on your credit score at all.
The Bureaus are sent data feeds on a daily basis in most cases by all the major lending financial vendors etc and so I think Experian have given you misinformation Danne-Gary.
You could have been been turned down due to any of the following:
You are not on the Electoral Roll
You have no previous credit history (Catch 22!)
You have previous bad credit history
Time at your current address is less than 3 Years
You have a new job
You have opened a new Bank Account
Too many credit applications in a short space of time will leave a negative footprint and suggest a desperation to get finance. Never ever make more than one application in a month.
In the case of credit cards apps you are likely to be turned down if you pay off your bill on time each month rather than having revolving credit and paying off the minimum, believe it or not!

hi
thank you for your help
the problem was with the mobile phone company, we could actually see online on experion that the phone company had my previous address listed even tho my bills (at the time) were coming to my new address !!
gary is with the same company but his his was listed with the new address !!
we were on the electoral roll because we remeber getting voting slips
i dont have bad credit history, in fact i am fairly well off due to divorce so all my bank accounts are looking good
we phoned experion up and they said it was the mobile phone company and that matched with what we saw online
experion sugested we contact the phone commpany but that was a wasted phone call lol
thank you anyway
and also thank you to the kind person who sent me a pm giving help
xxx
