Saw that advertised earlier, might give it my time lol
Did no one see 'Dawn goes naked'? It was really good and I have taped this one so I can watch it later. She is a brilliant choice for the topic as she is your average woman who has been brought up to be shy and quite conservative, but she really is trying to keep an open mind and listening to what people say.
Fingers crossed this one is as good as the other programme.
I have a bit of a crush on dawn..... redface surprisedops: the subjects she does are fantastic...
Super Skinny me, Dawn goes naked and Dawn goes lesbian (which I think was the best of the lot) were all fascinating programmes........ if you get a chance to see them, I really suggest that you do....
Glad she got a proper series on channel 4... will watch the whole lot...
the other person I like in that type of "docu" is nicky taylor....she does the more serious ones like smoking cannabis, binge drinking and plastic surgery.....
The only one I saw was Dawn Goes Naked and while I thought the programme was a little silly, I fell in love with Dawn.
Another for the Dawn Porter fan club, she's rather delicious .....she needs to do a programme about swinging with bloke from the midlands next :rascal:
i have a massive crush on dawn.
redface
fabio, did you see the dirty dancing one?
xxfem
Seen her shows on BBC Three before being shown on BBC Two...& not Channel 4.
I just think that she is rubbish nothing new or cutting edge...just stupid waste of my time.
Watched them to see how dumb they are & I even sent her a message via her MySpace page letting her know this.
Like a sort of Big Brother Documentary style throw away rubbish.
What is needed is a series of serious cutting fresh documentary done by a clever journalist....
Not ....I want to see what's it's like to be....erm...erm...a Lesbian. Kiss other Girls & flim it but at the end...not become one. THE END.
Erm....I want to get a load of Women to get Naked like that fella from Channel 4 but do it for the BBC...& we'll get an Open Top Double Decker Bus & show our bits off around London. THE END.
Am more clever than that.....hope you enjoy your simple mind destorying Television.

I don’t dissect why I like things, I just do.
Maybe in the job I have and the depression in the word its nice to sit back relax and watch something light hearted and easy.
I don’t think this rates my intelligence?

Best to watch a bunch of overpaid drama queens kick a bag of wind round a field eh? Now that's demonstating a high degree of superiority rolleyes

Wonder, this programme is definately on CH4 not BBC2

I can clear it up... the new bunch of documentries she has done is on channel 4.... the ones she has done in past have been on the bbc.....
I think them because I think a lot more people can relate to what dawn when thru for "Dawn goes naked" than they can for "how to look good naked" and trinny and susannah's efforts...... because dawn is the ordinary woman...
I loved dawn goes lesbian because it dealt with the emotional side of it rather than just the girl girl element, and again that is probably more true to life than most.....
fem... not seen the salse dancing one..... did she not do one on internet dating, I am dying to see that.... or that may well be a nicky taylor one....
the nicky taylor ones are a good watch, because she puts her body thru it.... the binge drinking one I think could put people off the pop for life.... the one on cosemtic surgery and one on cannabis were really good.....
the nicky taylor effort you may have seen is when she collaberated with the WI to do that documentry on setting up the perfect brothel in england

Am not getting at you, fem_4_taboo.
This is one of the reasons why we are in a decline as a nation (again my own personal viewpoint).
We know that issues are happening but all we want to do in our millions is watch rubbish like Eastenders & Coronation Street.
Even that I like Football, I have noticed as Society or problems are getting worse the hype, income & wages into the game have increased... confused:
People want an escape from their lives so they get into the Football & then it becomes an national obsession. I would like people to focus on the real issues but hey they can't be sloved in 90mins.... rolleyes

Whilst the game has changed & for the worse.
If it wasn't for Liverpool & Everton doing so well in the 1980's a large percent of the Male Youth in the city would of ended up in crime or on drugs.
The 1980's in my city was a very tough time...like 1930's Amercia yet the game of Football gave light in the darkness.
Many young men would work doing any jobs needed in the week just to get the Clothes & Ticket for the Match as both teams where doing well.
So I can sort of understand people that don't like the game but as I once read it's the....
Ballet & Opera for the Working Classes.

These players are good role models & do things that if you watch live either at the match or on the Telly you question your eyes...as it's almost out of a Computer Game....
So Football does have it's place in society & it was created by the British.

Can we leave the politics out please rolleyes

Erm...all her shows are about what is going on in society so therefore it covers politics.
Not Party Politics but personal.
So you are wrong as the nature of her shows are linked very close to the sbiject of sociology / personal politics.
This is why it get's no my wick that when others have a viewpoint (of which you Hibernian have many) people go with the:
too much information - tag line.
If you don't like the answer then don't ask the question.... :!:
We all have diffrent ways of expressing out viewpoints & not always to your specification.
Please don't take this as an attack against you, Hibernian. It's jusy MY own viewpoint.

I have to agree with WH HIb :lol2: :lol2: - I think all these shows touch on political issues to an extent with a hint of humour thrown in for good measure.
Probably why I enjoy them.
I watched most of the DP (late night tv on BB3) ones and a few of Nicky Taylor - she really put herself through a few things - dieting, binge drinking etc.
redface i still have a crush on her surprisedops:

Many people will not entertain the subjects that are being dealt with. Dawn's approach makes it more pallitable for the masses, in turn once they have for perhaps the first time considered something from a different viewpoint they may feel like finding out more and becoming more accepting.
Can that be a bad thing?
Not everyone wants 'hard core' information and explanation. Some people require a softening of a subject to be able to accept the subject matter at all and I think Dawn in particular does this beautifully. It is by no means silly and to discount this type of media as 'silly' is in itself silly to me.
She comes across as someone I would like to be around, some one I could relate to as a friend and by doing this I feel like I am experiencing the topic with her and empathising with her or at least understanding her. In that way I am either feeling like I am helping to guide her with things I already know and understand or learning with her when entering new experiences. It's like we're holding hands and taking each other through it. I am pretty sure this is the experience she was hoping to provide and in doing so she will be reaching far more than any hard core documentary can.
With regards to football. How can a job that pays a damn site more than any opera singer gets, be classed as working class heroes? That I fear has been taken away and made unobtainable, especially as so many footballers from the premier league teams are hand picked from foreign countries these days.
Role models? How often do we hear in the news that one has either beaten someone up, been done for drugs or speeding? I can think of better role models myself, like Dawn Porter perhaps?
