Daytime fun in Travel lodge !

Does anybody know if its acceptable to book a room in a Travel lodge type of establishment during the daytime. We all know it won't be for sleeping, but wondered if any of you have done it & whats the procedure, & the reaction to it in reception ?. What excuses do you use & did you check out after a few hours ? Thanks in anticipation, Bridge & Tom . confused

no problems or questions asked just a funny look when you leave after a few hours and hand your keys back
you can avoid the funny looks by going out and take the key with you and drop it off when passing another day
so a friend of ours told us honest redface

suppose some people really do need to book in for a sleep during the day, but can't help feeling guilty redface

have done day time sessions in travel lodges loads of times.. u do know u cant book in before midday dont you????
most of them now dont give you keys.. they give you a swipe card type thing.. next to the entrance there is a letterbox for these to be deposited in.. so there is no need to check out.. you just post your swipe card in and leave.. they wont even know u have gone till they check it the next day.

i've used a Formula 1 motel for an afternoon session on a couple of occasions. The advantage there is that you check-in at a machine using a credit card - so no "embarrassing" moments when leaving early-evening (shared facilities may limit the entertainment tho')

, thanks for the advice WBB, Just thinking ahead here, do you have to give your address on reception, they might just be wondering why we don't bother traveling the few extra miles home, or do you just pay the cash & walk in ? (didn't know about the midday bookin, we've got a lot to learn !!! wink

Personally, Wibbly and I can recommend T.L. for some daytime fun, had no problem checking in or out, we did it on a spur of the moment thing.........
Great one liner heard yesterday.......
Note left in Hotel bedroom, "if you'd like your bed turned down, please dial 445", so I called and this female said......... "I wouldn't go to bed with you if you were the last man on Earth"........... wink

TravelInn have a good check out policy... you pay when you get the room, and then you can leave any time you like just dump the key in the little box.
The only problem I always worry about is if there are 3 of you but only one room... I always feel guilty coming back from the attached pub to my room with two other people in tow... having said that its even more difficult trying to explain why you booked a room for 2 people (only way to get a double bed in some places) yet your the only one there!!!!! (thats only if your always early like me).
I now just book online by credit card... give my name at the desk, get the key... and try not to be noticed after that (as do most people staying in those places)
Incidentaly I did once ask if they did a tripple room or a room with two beds and got the third degree from the woman on the phone, so I wouldn't recommend that!!
Its easier in North America... all motel rooms have 2 double beds, and they expect everyone to be cheapskate enough to be sharing in massive groups (its all the 3 day car journeys ppl do out there).

Travel inns/lodges are the biz, turn up, book in, txt the other person joining you with room number, have fun then leave at different times, nobody is any the wiser. Have spoken to many of the receptionists and boy do they see it all, your situation will be like water off a ducks back, honestly, don't worry. biggrin

Yep that sounds about right.... and leave room service to work out how you made soooo many stains in such a short period of time :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: (don't forget children, no glove no love)
Do tell more... what have they seen??? - I think their only concern is missing out on booking two rooms instead of one ;)

We were 'interupted' by the manager of a Formula 1 who thought the room was clear. I don't know who was more shocked :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:
The showers are private, and have a handy moulded in seat ;)
