I've been pretty nervious about flinging my mobile number out on the ether, but I've come up with a very good idea which some of you people out there might be interested in. I'd like to stress that this is a completely non-commercial thing - I don't get anything for recommending them
(do a search on google) is a free VOIP client made by the people who made kazaa. It allows you to call PC to PC free of charge and have a voice connection (no webcam) It also allows you to call landlines and mobiles etc (internationally) for a very cheap price & no line rental.
Obviously this means that the person the other end can hear your voice and you can have a conversation, but not have the worry about them ringing your landline when the kids are around (not a problem for me, but my flatmate might be shocked)
Enjoy!

or the easier option is just to get two sim cards! One for work and the other for handing out to strangers wink
indeed! But it's a pain to keep swapping ;- )
is such a good idea it. It really does allow free phone calls to other users.
The nice thing is you can block anyone from seeing if you're online (or on ) which means you can give out your details safe in the knowledge you can always block anyone you want.
With JQL endorsing it, I am definitely going to look into it!
Thanks folks!
Alex,
has an option (in File>Options>Privacy) to allow calls from "only people from my contacts can call" which I recommend you set. Also set the "only people from my Contact can start IM".
This will stop all and sundry from being able to contact you unless you've given them permission.
Thanks John - much appreciated!
I have two phones - one for family, friends, business etc and the other one used solely for our swinging contacts.
You can pick up phones, with or without sim cards very cheaply on ebay. Or perhaps your local newspapers have a pages for people buying/selling stuff where you may get one?
I bought a sim free phone for only £10 (ok it's not the latest model but who cares? ) and bought a new sim card for it, so for less than £20 I have the security of knowing that I won't get embarrassing phone calls when I'm at work etc, because I turn the other one off when it is not convenient to have calls on it wink
If you're entering into the swinging lifestyle, it really does pay to have another phone. Don't forget, you may want to chat/text at times when you're not at your pc. For example, if the other person is running late or has to cancel at last minute etc, they can text or call to let you know.
Plus, once you've made a few friends, it's nice sometimes just to call them up and have a chat smile

We have the same set up, it just makes life so much easier.
A simpler answeris to have two phones.
Use one for your private contacts and the other forgeneral use. After all you can get a mobile for 6 ix cornflake packet tops and a poem saying how good they are.

like other people I have two mobiles, one number for family and friends and one for more intimate use.
I have two SIM cards. Not on purpose, long story rolleyes , but I used to use one for swinging and my other one for work/family...... anyways, I generally can't be arsed carting round and checking two phones, so recently I've been giving out my normal phone number to everyone. Having said that, I won't give my phone number (any phone number) at all until I'm sure someone is genuine after I had one bloke who rang 30s times a day  for several weeks
for about 15quid you can buy a twin sim pack that is a new back for your phone and holds 2 sims switching between the 2 is easy. Try carphone warehouse thats where i got mine from.
