Decadence Twins - the Penultimate "Latest News"

We thought it was about time to give you all an update â€“ probably the last one before D-Day.
We have just got back from the hospital where Sappho now has to go every other day (a bit of an arse, seeing as itâ€™s 20 miles away mad

) so that they can monitor the babiesâ€™ hearts. Twin 1â€™s growth appears to have slowed down so the Consultant (Sappho : silly

hwoar: Will: rolleyes

) has decided that it would be prudent to keep a close eye on things. Certainly both twins are still very active so, to be honest, the two of us are not really concerned about either of them.
Poor Sappho is now VERY uncomfortable and can barely move! When Fred Flintstone saw her a couple of weeks he described her as â€˜a bump on a stickâ€™ which is just about right. She is also mourning the fact that she used to have ankles. Now she just appears to have a balloon on the end of each leg and is frightened that sheâ€™s turning into Aunt Marge from Harry Potter. She says that she still looks normal from the neck up. Quite frankly, this is wishful thinking as she has never been quite normal from the neck up! :grin: (Sappho: <<<SLAP>>>

:smackbottom: - or at least, she would if she could reach!! lol

We are 36 weeks tomorrow, and the Consultant says that they will probably think about inducing at 38 weeks, but reckons that Mother Nature is going to take care of things before then anyway. So, any time within the next two weeks it could all happen!! :shock: :shock: :shock:
We have car seats, nappies, bottles, steriliser, breast pump, clothes, blankets (thank you Jags and the Flintstones kiss

) . Unfortunately, the travel cot is not due to arrive until May 10th and there is every possibility that the twins will get here first â€“ so God knows where they are going to sleep! Sappho has suggested clearing out a drawer for them, but I am worried that it might be a bit dark for them when we shut it dunno

Obviously, I will let you all know as soon as anything happens.

PS Sappho is having a contraction at this very moment!!! :shock: :shock: We think itâ€™s just another Braxton Hick â€“ sheâ€™s been having a lot of those!

Make sure that you have got plenty of water packed for when the time comes Will... It's bluddy thirsty work labour you know lol

I meant to ask, are they going to let Sappho deliver naturally or will they be taking the twins out of the sunroof?? :lol: Either way make sure that you have some Tea Tree Oil for when she bathes it will help with the stitches etc biggrin

Ohhh how exciting!! It's only 3 weeks until I'll be esconced (sp?) in Sappho country for a week, so hopefully I'll get to see the little bundles while I'm there biggrin

I'll be perfecting my brewing up skills in the meantime so that the worn out parents can at least have something warm and wet while I'm there.... lol

Well, I was kind of hoping that Sappho would be able to keep her legs crossed till the end of the month when we were up her way again.
But it sounds as if by then you will be ready to start work on the next set of twins.

Excellent news! To get to 36 weeks with twins is good, so well done Sappho.
Be warned, those Braxton Hicks could be the real deal, it was with me, but it turns out my pain threshold was higher than I thought and Mr GHC ended up delivering our son on our hallway floor, whilst waiting for the ambulance!! :doh:

Lets hope Mother Nature takes over before 38 weeks for Sappho's sake. I know how uncomfortable she must be kiss

I was induced at 38 weeks and gave birth to two boys weighing just under 7lbs each :shock:
If I'd been left any longer I'm sure I would have burst :shock: lol

Make the most of these last few days of peace and quiet. There won't be much afterwards :lol:

Oh wow....hasn't that come quickly.....I remember when those babies were just teeny tiny glints in Will's Eyes.... wink

I hope everything goes okay for all four of you.......keep us updated and let us know how everything goes.....

And here's the very latest...
Unless Mamma Nature gets in first, we shall have the Decadence twins making their first public appearance by the end of next week! I'm going in for an induction so keep your fingers crossed if nothing else!
Rest assured Will will make the announcement as soon as he can.
