I was reading something that had been posted in another section and the person has stated they are 'genuine'. We see this word appear all the time in posts and ads, but what do we really take it to mean?
What does it mean to say he/she is genuine or I am genuine?
It's a word, a pointless one in an advert. In fact, those who say they are genuine are probably more likely to be saying it to divert the fact they're not genuine!
I agree. How can someone say he or she is genuine. I think that can only be judged by what other people think of you

Well I would imagine they are trying to say they don't mess people around and if it is in an advert they will turnup. I have replied to people who have said they are genuine(not on this site)and they were just timewasters and pic collectors. I guess no one really knows whether anyone is genuine or lying about their status until they get to know them more.
p.s. I am so genuine it hurts lol
p.p.s I really am.
I suppose it could be a way of telling people that you do what you say you do, when you say you will do it.
Genuine = not fake, or couterfeit; original; authentic, not pretending, frank, sincere.
So if the cap fits...
alternative definition
Genuine = 10" fat cock, can shag for hours/days/weeks, 6ft suntanned fit body to die for, house all round the world, flash car,...and charisma in buckets..oh and i am genuine btw...
the choice is yours!!!!!
I should change my name to Genuine then!!! lol
What if someone describes themselves as "unreal"? What does that make them? confused
to me genuine mean that they will do what agreed, does not mean there will be sex if meeting but just to turn up as arranged for a drink and a chat
Its one of those terms we we're discussing a while back Polo , used a great deal by Trisha rejects , and completely meaningless . A lazy avoidance of asking more specifically what you want , and about as descriptive as sleeping deaf mute . It goes in the dross dictionary between " down to earth" and " at the end of the day".
To be honest for us "newbies" its impossible to know what to describe ourselves as. Yesterday there was a thread saying that calling myself BBW makes me arrogant (God forbid I think myself beautiful). Now today I can't call myself genuine for fear of it being meaningless and me being a Trisha reject.
What do we put thats not going to upset anyone?
T (a genuine bbw part of genuine couple and goddamn beautiful - so there lol)

A hippy.
Isn't genuine a competition where LibraLove is first prize? innocent
Well a huge amount of the con artists we remove from the ad system contain the magic genuine word.
So in swinging terms it's become a bit of a non word for me.
I just ignore it and see what else is written before making a judgement.
But at the end of the day, if someone is down to earth, I'd probably think they were genuine. lol

In a perfect world all the ads should be genuine.....so there should be no need to say it!!

Erm, there is a country rock singer in the U.S. called Suzy Bogus (okay, it might be spelt slightly wrong). Can she be genuine? If I have a CD of hers, how do I know it's a genuine bogus? Or could it be bogus...etc etc. lol
