Definition of Summer.....

Well at last summer is here, we have some glorious sunshine, i can sunbath nude, the kids 10ft pool is up and running, and waiting for me to be thrown into it same as last year (can feel a tradition coming on here rolleyes

), at 9pm tonight the kids were butt naked in the pool, brilliant!
Now im sitting indoors with patio doors open but yet i can smell the outside still, you know that smell you can usually only smell when camping, the smell of grass and trees and flowers...... Now its nearly 10pm yet its still ligh outside lol

I just love it :smug:
BUT What I'd like to know is what in your life defines your summer?? confused

BBQ's, smell of suntan lotion, cut grass ...
Off into town in a bit to buy the kids a new swing and then a pool. Just need Morbius to come home later and cut the jungle back and get the BBQ going biggrin

Being able to go to the park on a Saturday afternoon.

When now matter how late you got to bed the night before when the sun kisses you awake at 6am in the morning you're bursting with energy.

I get so much more done in the summer.
Off to B & Q now.

Sunny days
Balmy evenings sat ouside having a drink watching the sun go down
smell of sun lotion
smell of the sea
not having to wear as many clothes

Aimless drives with the roof down and the stereo up, long holidays with my children,the beach,sitting outside at my local in the afternoon with cool drink and warm conversation,BBQ's (always with a huge lawn umbrella because it WILL rain), camping and just soaking up every little bit of sunshine possible.

Heading up into castle park and playing footy with the lads (if anyone knows colchester y'know why). Heading up to the castle pub after, pint in hand, havin a larf and watching the women stroll buy. Yep typical guy thing I suppose. Why am I sat inside again?

ummm, getting too hot in my van all day, blinded by sunlight from rear windows in traffic, one arm getting burnt!!
oh, but one good thing is lots more daylight - much nicer for us insomniacs!! lol

spotted plenty of signs that summers here today, one of which was a number of blokes that think it's acceptable to walk into shops without puttin a top on, I can tell yer now, if I owned any retail establishment, I'd throw the fuckers out on their ear!!!
other than that little moan, the usual things, the rest of you guys have mentioned .........and aint it bloody great! biggrin

I know its Summer when....
Oddly, There are suddenly nearly 10 times as many women around (guys, you know what I mean?)
The top of my nose starts peeling
I see Men wearing open toed shoes (why do they think people want to see their hairy toes, bruised and unkempt toenails and occasional toe-jam?)
My son tries to convince me that he can stay up until 10pm because "it is not dark yet"!
I notice that my right arm is darker than my left.

So it is a universal kid excuse is it? biggrin

I also know it is Summer when I hear stamping outside and find that my little boy decides to wage war on "dirty ants"! :shock:

My definition of Summer has to be.............
When the grass is first cut in order to make the hay for the year......
Eating ice-cream on a boiling hot day whilst lazing around doing nothing.......
BBQ's with friends......
The Summer Puppy Show......
Watching the horses sleeping in the sunshine in their fields....
The Hunt Ball......
Lots of cold drinks to cool you down....
and lots and lots of other things..... to many to list.... lol
