I've just finished reading todays Sun,
and on page 16 theres a report of a 10 year old boy falling down a manhole that was covered by a carpet and a layer of snow!
Apparently the boy is ok after being rescued by the local firefighters.
However straight below this article was a joke sent in by a reader (who presumambly did not know about this incident)
"what did the rug say to the floor?
Dont move, I've got you covered"
I found it quite funny, but I'm not sure the boy and his family will though!!

Well it just shows that people dont always double check things!
Im sure that there will be some comeback from that.
Papers are rubbish and a waste of money!!

Am I the only one thinking why was a manhole covered with a bit of carpet in the first place?
The subs on the Sun are legendarily funny in their headlines, even if it's sometimes in the worst possible taste, so it could be that the sub who put this page to bed was having a giraffe.

I suppose that the two items were put in by different writers - clearly there was an ineffective overall edit control.
Plim
