No flaw there !!!!
Nobody would vote for ya lol
never heard of spoilers......
well it can have its good and bad points.
If voted for its becomes a popularity contest and maybe the best people are not selected to carry out the role and duties of a mod. It can also become very cliquey as i evidenced an Irish version of this site. Where mods seemed intent on throwing there weight around and showing off as they had a "star"
Don’t think it would work to be honest.
It would just become a popularity contest rather than people voting for the best person/s to do the job.
Will they be allowed Campaign funds? :rascal:
How will they be nominated? :rascal:
Now get back in the chatroom while you still can :giggle:
wave nice knowing you...... you bloke! kiss

No. Definitely no.
A Mod's appointment should not be based on popularity. It should simply be based on the ability to do the job in the manner commensurate with the owner's vision for the site.

Most large & very successful Company's use the "Circle of success" theory. Which states "skills can be taught, but attitude is the real key"
Anyone can be taught a skill ........... but only those with the correct attitude should be shown it!!!!

And some people could possibly be of the opinion that it would be a good idea to change the selection process on SH for precisely this reason !!
dunno

There's nothing up with the selection process, there's also nothing up with the mod and op team, whilst not everyone may agree with the decisions made at times, the admin team does investigate all complaints.

No !! you just cut a bit of my original post ... Are you to stupid to notice when you do that ??
You seem to think I am, but then it does appear that you are easily fooled.
I think we have witnessed democracy in a nutshell.
Someone suggests doing something either well intentioned or pointless, a riotous assembly picks it over, the proceedings dissolves into jeering and abuse, the suggestion is forgotten and replaced with something equally distracting and quite possibly just as pointless.

Just like national elections! A vote for the image not the ability! No thank you!
Now widespread discussion, yes please. However not wide spread power. Athens made that mistake. A nasty place to live if you did not say yes to everyone.
On the whole I like things just as they are.
