Dido just doesn't do it for me anymore

WTF? What's it all about then? dunno

I wanted to copy a Dido CD to my Media Library and the little bugger wouldn't let me. banghead

I've never come across this before. You buy a CD and you can copy it to your media library, so what's so special about Dido? :shock: :shock: :shock:
Ok, ok, I know it's probably her record label that's responsible but I'm still mad

are you trying to rip the image, mp3 it or what?
and what software you using? try Win on CD (think its by Cequedat). never let me down yet

think dido is on Sony, cleaver feckers for protection systems. see if you can burn a copy disc and rip that, its a long shot but it just might work

I've had it several times before eager with various artists. I ain't techie in the slightest and just assume that some labels encrypt (is that the right sort of term) their stuff to stop people making copies dunno

theres a lot of CDs and DVDs now days that wont let u copy them
I think in a few years they will be all like that

Well yeah. Thanks for the advice guys.
The thing that makes me mad is it's been paid for (and it wasn't cheap compared to a lot of cds) and they seem to think they're soooooooooooo fucking special in some way or another.

I got one of those (and there is a hack but can't remember it redface

) but wrote to the company and complained (think it was The Blue Nile) - they not only wrote to apologise but sent me a free copy of an unencrypted CD so I returned the original to the shop for a refund.

There is a way to over-ride the anti copy software.
As you load the CD into the pc, hold the shift key down for about 30 seconds.
That overides the software on the CD. Simple as that

It does need practice but it does work on the discs that are copyright protected that i have done and secondly the copyied disc is now software free biggrin
