If this has been done before then I appologise but I have not seen it before.
Mrs McC and I are going to have a (probably non-swinging) dinner party. We have a big table here so are able to invite two people from SH plus six other guest to join us. Our list is:
From SH:
Libra + Love (because of the avatar)
DaveJ (because we need some humour)
Our other guests will be:
- Jools Hooland (he can play the music and knows others who may join us later)
- Anne Bancroft ( two Oscars and she can try and seduce the younger members of the party anytime)
- Nelson Mandela (must have something interesting to say)
- Robert Burns (one for the Scots and definitely one for the girls)
- Helen of Troy (she must be worth seeing as she started a war and could launch 1000 ships)
- Madaame Pompadour (French courtesan - must be up for it and will give us the continental point of view)
Who would you invite?
(Not limited to two from SH - that is just our mix but I think a minimum of two from the site should be there to keep things even).
Answers on a postcard ............

My SH dinner party would be in the garden with me doing my thing on the BBQ all day, maybe a dozen people cos I don't have enough furniture for more... and that would be a real problem, keeping it down to manageable numbers because there are so many people I'd like to invite. Oh well, guess I'll just have to have six dinner parties. biggrin
One person who'd definitely be on my guest list is Alexandra, because of all the people who I promised a duck (I said duck!), she's the only one who hasn't had it yet. :D
mmmm..... a good mix for a sucessful dinner party.....
Samuel Pepys
Euan McGregor
Elizabeth Emmanuel
Max Clifford (just for the gossip)
Marya
Tim Collins
Shireen

A great evening, good food (not cooked by me, otherwise i'd kill them all), decent wines, and time to chat.

mandxxx
keith floyd - to help with the cooking
liam gallagher - post party scrapping after being wound up by:
mo mowlam - poiltical chat to spark the debate
joan collins - gossip
julian clary - alternative views
victoria beckham - the target (or maybe not)
Ah McCloggie thanks for the invite just make sure you buy a nice wine though.
Can't say that we would invite anyone, mainly because we don't cook.......nope not a thing is cooked in our house. The only reason there's a cooker in the kitchen is so we can see the time, just a bloody big clock really and a dinner party that is centered around cheese and daddies sauce sandwiches probably wouldn't work too well.
For me, it would have to be the following
Paul Merton - For his spontanious surrealism
Armando Iannuchi - The REAL tallent behind Alan Partridge, and a very intelligent man (Left wing)
Stephen Fry - A nice right wing opinion to counter act Armando's Left wing views, which should lead to some great political debates.
If he were still with us, i'd have to choose the great John Peel, but seen as this is a fantasy dinner, why not.
Dougless Adams - I'd invite him, but he'd probably turn up horrendously late as he did with all his work
Quinten Tarrentino - The guy's a genius and a good laugh, what more do you want
seemingly, it's a lads night in for mine, so lets forget that it's a posh dinner party and make it a drinking session!
