I remember once getting blown out by someone, because my job was not 'professional' in her eyes.
My income meant I was earning decent money, better than some of the occupations she classed as professional, but because part of my work attire is steel toecap boots and not a shirt and tie, I didn't fit her criteria for being classed as a professional.
It was her call, I hope she found what she was looking for.

well what did you expect, fancy turning up in your flourencents! lol
Could have been worse, could have been a deckchair shirt like I have seen you in.
How many times have i got to tell...that shirts not for sale!!
is there some kind of swinging elitism going on?
ie those who are secretive are doing it for real, whereas the rest are amateurs putting themselves at risk?
also if amateurs do it for fun, professionals do it, if not for money; for some other peculiar reason.

I see this so often, so if you don't want anyone to know in your profession? why mention it?
It's a bit " we are/ i am a professional person" what's this got to do with meeting?
?

probably because some people in some professions my actual lose their jobs if it was discovered they are on here

Thats exactly the point though. What Joewally is saying is why mention your job status at all? Its funny when you think about it more only people who class themselves as professional bother to list it. You dont see Semi skilled couple or non professional couple lol

I think you'll find the term is 'down to earth'

So then surely that should be discussed during the arrangements of a meet? Or are you saying that if a person or couple I am going to meet with and potentially have sex with have declared themselves as professional, I should put more effort into being discreet?
A persons vocational status is irrelevant if all those involved have good levels of manners, decency and respect.

it's not about job status it's about discretion,

Exactly!
So what is the point in mentioning that someone is professional, when it is only right to be discreet, regardless of your occupation.

So you agree it is actually pointless then?

Well if your only reasoning is because they want to, you have failed in educating me.

Just as well really, seeing as you think the grandparent of a 61 year old can be in their 80's....

That your maths ain't too good so you shouldn't try to educate anyone dunno
What's your point exactly, if you're saying that they only say it 'because they want to'?
Is there maybe a difference between discretion being needed because of your job (you're a teacher, or a childcare worker, or a police officer, or a social worker) and discretion beign needed because you fear your clients may not employ or pay you if they find out you like a shag with strangers?

Well if the grandparent was 89, then both parent and grandparent giving birth at 14 would do it surely? Do they come from Norfolk? lol

Sorry sweetheart, looks like you wandered into the wrong room, Current Affairs is just across the corridor, that comment would fit in well there.

I don't think there's any difference. I think discretion should be taken for granted, regardless of the job someone does. I would no more consider being indiscreet whether a person was the prime minister or a street cleaner.
Actually they are good and valid points FB..

I exercise discretion all the time.
To put it another way. In one job it might be considered news worthy by the shitbag press if my sexuality became public. In another job it might just be embarrassing, with potential side effects. I think that's different.

It's not you know... discretion is discretion. Regardless of what job you are in, the shitbag who made it public is still a shitbag!
