Not having had sex with a man (bit curious though) i can only vouch for DIY and with a woman.
With DIY you are more or less in control and responsible for your own actions and feelings, if fingers or hands used, and therefore sensations travel via your own source direct to your brain.
But with someone else doing the actions the brain has to work overtime.

In my opinion it is to do with hitting the g-spot. A guy cannot hit the g-spot with his cock. If a woman knows what she is doing she can hit the g-spot and the clit at the same time. Serenity - I think the DIY orgasm is by far the better orgams mainly because you get the right spot straight the way, everytime - no delays. I also find with DIY it never stops at one, in fact I would be disappointed if I only gave myself one. Clitoral mulit-orgasms are a blast and I am the only one who manages to give me them.
All this said, given the choice of DIY or having a few others try - the trying is much more fun. And you don't get the satisfaction of making someone else cum with DIY.
