Hugs Ice .. not much worse than a tooth/gum ache
Can't suggest anything except an ice pack (no pun intended).
sorry about this ice,but i had exactly the same prob, what they do is cut open the side of your gum and scoop it out,it bloody hurts after, nip out and get plenty of nurofen plus
I had a root-filling 16 days ago. Today is the first day I haven't been in agony with it!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
I've dabbled in some DIY 'surgery'...
When I was, what, 18 or sommat, I had my 4 wisdom teeth removed. They were all impacted and growing in the wrong direction. So, I had to have them removed in hospital under a full anasthetic as it needed quite a bit of work to get them out.
That seemed to go all well and good (bar a night of puking up blood afterwards.)
So anyway, I get released back home, and all seems ok for a short while. Then it started to get more and more painful to move my tongue. In fact, I couldn't move my tongue at all or, more to the point, just having a tongue at all was pure, intense pain. I worked out that the problem was there was a bit of bone floating in my gum at the back of my mouth. It had slowly worked it's way to the surface and was poking into my tongue.
I couldn't eat, drink or talk for a couple of days. I wasan't due to go back to the dentist for a check-up for over a week and, for some odd reason, my family didn't think it was enough of an emergency to make an emergency appointment (bear in mind I'd now not eaten for two days and had barely drunk anything). Like an idiot I heeded their advice and tried to sit tight for my check up.
The pain got the better of me though. So I grabbed a pair of tweezers, found a mirror and, with some care, and with great pain, after many failed attempts, I managed to grab hold of the bone fragment with the tweezers and with one swift motion I yanked it out of my gum.
Unimaginable pain, and a bit of blood, but a sense of reliefe you couldn't believe. I could talk, eat and drink again, and no lasting pain!
If you not allergic or anything then Ibuprofen good for toothache, it helps with swelling being anti inflamatory or somthing. Nurofen Plus one of most powerful things you can buy over the counter and will get you through to dentist if it really bad.
PS not a pharmacist so double check with em before taking any suggestions...
Bonjela will make it numb for a while......................bit of relief
