Do people like receiving PMs?

I've sent quite a few PMs to certain individuals, just to say hello and try to get know each other a bit more.
Per my introductory post last week ('Introducing Myself') my first plan on this site is to get to know everyone and enjoy some interesting, intellectual and sexy chat.
I just wanted to make sure that it was acceptable practice to approach people with unsolicited PMs.
Fortunately, almost all of those I've written to so far have welcomed the PMs and have replied with some nice comments and advice. I look forward to sharing further notes.
If anyone wants to PM me, feel free to do so. Of course I enjoy chatting with women because they will have a different view of things to me, but I will chat to men too - indeed I've already PM's a few of them. (However, I'm not gay or bi. Strictly mono.)

I have absolutely no idea if I like receiving PMs or not. I've only ever had one and that was when I first started posting!

I have had two unsolicited PMs recently one corresponce was only for a couple of pms ... their loss but another WHHHOOOOOOHHOOOO. you know who you are.... Gmanxxxxx smile

No, my shovel is still where it belongs at the bottom of my (I'm going to have the piss thoroughly taken for this, but I'll say it anyway) hole. He must have his own.
I like to get PMs, but rarely send them. I think I'm afraid that people don't want to be pestered. From this thread, it sounds like I'm wrong.
Having said that, there are good PMs and bad PMs. I'd much prefer something with content from a friend to "Hi, how are you going" from someone I don't know.

You had it almost right the first time. As an acronym (or initialism, if you prefer to call it that), PM should be in capitals. The plural is PMs. PM's is the possessive.
