I find this very interesting because a guy I used to see suddenly decided to stop kissing me - after a year of full-on snogs whenever we met.
As this happened in tandem with a few other things that made me feel uncomfortable, I thought he didn't like me, and ditched him.
When he weedled his way back a few weeks later to apologise for being a dick (he was), he also mentioned that he had stopped kissing girls six month ago. Any girls.
After slapping him for not telling me sooner he told me he couldn't cope with the intimacy of it as an active single man.
I think it's both realistic and sad, but have seen it starting to happen as men disassociate their emotions from the matter in hand. Maybe they are right to protect themselves, but where does that leave the women who just love to snog their lips sore rolleyes

Kissing on a first meet? Not sure. I think the guy (or girl) would have to think about whether they would be welcomed or spat on.

I have never made love to a woman without kissing but then I've never made love in the swinging sense so my input may be gibberish.
Surely NOTHING should be taken for granted.
Any and all actions should, in theory be worked out beforehand so that both/ get what they want.
I suppose that if a guy kisses a womans neck and she turns her head to a suitable position for a lip to lip kisss that would be a clue, but if she didn't, that would also be a clue.

is this not the differance between making love and having sex.
If you making love then kissing indicates to me a certain level of emotion....where if it is just raw sex then you don't need any of the emotional input !!!

Kissing is such a turn on. Personally i find it difficult not to kiss someone i am getting intimate with. It kinda leaves me feeling a bit cold if i don't have the intimacy of a good kissing session.

Some considerable time ago I believe that I replied to a thread similar to this with the thought that I did not like blokes (and that is terrible because I would not mind a woman) kissing Carolyn).. At the time I thought that it was more to do with the fact that our relationship had moved on from the pure sex angle to something stronger.
Seeing this thread reminded me of that. I still prefer that Carolyn does not get involved with full on snogging as, maybe perversely , I find 'tongue level snogging' more intimate than some guy sliding his cock in her or applying a bit of mouth to clit stimulation.
