This is a forum right? A place where people are allowed to express their opinions on subjects others put up for discussion.
Why is it all i'm seeing now is people decrying what others are saying and worse still the person themselves, whether its from a political point of view, because they are backing someone else up or some other reason.
I'm sorry, but no one persons opinion has any more weight than anybody elses, whatever it is that is posted (bearing in mind the law firstly and the AUP afterwards) it should not be subject to others trying to censor it simply because they do not like or agree.
I, although a pretty long standing member am relativley new to posting on this forum, I started posting because I saw a constant stream of sensible, adult topics and discussion of them along the same vein. In the last few days I have seen posts that imho do not deserve a place amongst the obvious quality that is the norm for this forum, this saddens me, because it appears I may have been wrong in my original thoughts.
No one should feel it necessary to leave a forum because of what others post, that is sad, however the opposite side of that coin is no one should feel pressured or guilty about expressing their own opinions, no matter the subject and bearing in mind again the governing rules. I personally think we all need to draw breath here, because I can see this forum coming apart at the seams, battle lines are being drawn and sides are being picked, it is ridiculous beyond comprehension to me.
At the end of the day, opinions are like arseholes, everybody has one, some are the perky, attractive ones people like, others you wouldnt go near in a million years, there still as valid as each other. It's everyones choice at the end of the day, good honest debate should be what this forum is about, at the moment, the vitriol is coming from both sides and in vast quantities.......

People leave sites and forums etc. But they don't dissappear from the swinging world. People I have seen after leaving a site, said they just got fed up with debating and using the net to do so. They just wanted to get back in touch with live people. So they just hang out in clubs and places and do it direct.

I don't see any contradiction whatsoever, I have no problem with people arguing against others opinions, that makes a debate, it's a shame and imho makes the answer unworthy of any response when that argument is aimed at the posters political affiliation or is a simple personal attack rather than rebutting the post itself though (and as a point of order I was not just using some of the posts on this thread but a few others also)....but you know what, I have no right to do anything but add my opinion on what I see, others don't agree with it, hey ho, i'm certainly not going to lose any sleep over it :dunno:

In your opinion.
In my opinion, she said her goodbye in her own inimitable style and you know what, good on her.
She will be missed by the people for whom she meant something. She may be missed by others because of her posts, which were largely witty, insightful and sometimes bloomin' ridiculous - but never less than entertaining.
For those who didn't know her or don't care, fair enough. The forum itself will move on. But that doesn't stop people being remembered fondly.
