Does anyone else work really weird hours?

Yes i work strange hours too. Im a Private Hire Driver (chauffeur) and i work whenever someone calls! Early mornings, late nights (sometimes both). Ive spent a few nights sleeping in the car between jobs. But i get to be home at all hours too - so i can keep up with the great people on here. I aslo get to dogging sites around the south east - so i guess it cant be all bad?

as self employed sparky, often work funny times,ie late weekends etc.
but for me it's called callout and usally for all diy nutters,that blow things up

well sometimes - yes - but always the seats are well covered. But as the success rate for dogging around my area is negligible the situation hasnt really arisen yet biggrin

Hey Sparky I used to work for my local elecy board I was on call. Sundays was the best day nearly always blown main fuses by diyers. The rules were tell me what you have done so I can then fit new fuse for free or I will inspect your entire installation at cost to you. They would always come clean then!!

hi- shyboy -remember those days did my appertenceship on seeboard, amazing how may people come clean when facing a bill or you threating not to put a fuse back in.
my favorite at mo is people putting fancy switches and sockets in etc and cocking up

Ieft school and did an appreticeship as a tiler,,good hours . Got made redundant so trained to be a chef,,,,crap hours . Went back to tiling / decorating ,,,great hours again biggrin

Well it depends on how u define unusual!
At the moment i am working from 4am - 4pm Mon - Fri and a saturday morning and that's after they cut my hours down! I used to work 4am - 8pm Mon - Fri and a saturday morning!
But they are getting more socialable!

My working hours are so weird I have come to regard 9-5 as pure fiction. I think I did 9- 5 once, maybe another life or something. I've just done four consecutive 12 hour shifts followed by a hurried evening's pissup with some people I've never met before and a lady with sexy feet. Next week I'm going to do four consecutive 12 hour shifts again, only they'll be at night instead of during the day, and the week after that, fuck knows, I gave up trying to keep track years ago. Listen guys, seriously, don't do shiftwork - evolution took three billion years to program your body clock, and a mere twenty years of shiftwork has thrown all that out the bleedin window. Jet-lag is child's play by comparison. Oh and I'm pissed too, which counts as a majoe event fopr me cos i so rarely get the chance. Normal peole have entire weekends to get pissed - i just do it as and when i can.
Oh and while im waffling can i just say YOOHOO wave

to corrie and bernie, and you other people who were there i don know who the fuck you are but you were great biggrin

I used to work 4 x 12 hour shifts.....tue-frid from 7pm till 7am...
Made saturday a long old day I can tell you..... unless you wanted to go to bed and miss it all together...
Now I work a much more sane shift.....4pm till midnight....mon-frid...

Work weird hours,mostly 24hr shifts,seem to get loads of free never go back to 9 to 5.
But hey I'm even quitting that soon for no work at all!

Nar. i work a boring 10 - 6 shift
but when i used to work in the warehouse of our company. i used to work very odd hours. one week i'd be on nights then next on days.

I'm a nurse / midwife so worked weird hours for years, has great advantages though get to go to bed on cold wet mornings !

I work very strange hours.
I work 9 till 5 Monday to Friday.
How strange is that? You would think that they should know by now that I can't get out of bed till at least 10ish on a Monday.
Bosses eh? They want the earth!
