Thought you might have done as you are, after all, a Googlebrity!
I have something similar......and I'm on permanent medication for it.....but it still affects me when I get an infection or if I drink or smoke too much......
Feel free to PM me Fruity hun.....I'm happy to talk about it...!
At the moment there's no cure for it. But you can go to your G.P and get medication to deal with the symptoms. You can ask for anti-vertigo/nausea medications and the use of a suitable diuretic. Also you could avoid/reduce caffeine, alcohol, salt and nicotine.
Not trying to make light of your problem, but with treatment, it isn't as bad as you may think. Reading text books and stuff usually gives you a worse idea than what it really is.
re lsast nights conversation, person i mentioned to you will email you this aft

my mother also suffers. I think the pills she takes are called stematil. probably not spelt right and they are a perscription drug. I think this medication is pretty effective and my ma's attacks are now few and far between.
Hi Ya
Just seen your thread, I work as a communicator for the deaf and last year when I was doing my post graduate course we had to cover a fair bit about deafness and casues. One of the casues can be Meniers Disease. There is no cure for Meniers Disease at the moment, all you can take is stemitile to help with the giddiness and sickness, but I would suggest that you go and having your hearing levels check.
I dont know if this will help by if you go to this link it may give you some more information> There are also other organisations and associations that can give advice about this.
I hope this is of some help.
If you want any more information, you can pm me and Ill see what else I can find out for you
Hope you get better soon

My dad has Menieres and it has seriously affected is now almost completely deaf and though he suffers less from attacks than he used to it is still a big problem for him. What you say about appearing drunk when suffering an attack is very have been reluctant to help him in public when this happens as he appears to be totally bladdered(guess having a gruff Scots accent adds to their fears too).I have only seen him have an attack once and he was lucky i was there as he had it getting off the bus and i caught him as he were very lucky in that some very kind people in an estate agents saw what had happened and took us into their half an hour one of them kindly drove us more seriously,on another occassion he was leaving the old Eye Hospital in Westbourne(Redhot should know where i mean) and he had an attack on Poole road by the traffic lights, staggered into the road and got hit by a car just coming off the is fortunately ok but it took a long time for him to get is affected most badly when it is a dull overcast day and the cloud cover is increase in air pressure causes him a lot of trouble.I hope that all of you sufferers find ways to cope with this debilitating disease and i wish you all the best.
Dear Fruity
i have symptoms very similar and they are dreadfull but as soon as i get medication they go away. The dizziness is terrible as i cant get my head off the pillow withought throwing up, but as i said as soon as medication is taken im fine. The doctor says mine is an inner ear infection but ive had it 4 times in 18 months .
The medication is named prochlorerazine 5mg taken 3 times a day but can cause drowziness, it is also prescribed for vertigo and menieres syndrome.
hope this helps love peppsxxxxxx
