Just a quick thought really....
Why are the Dogging Locations still listed.
1. I think they're proabbly one of the biggest reasons you get the "fancy a fuck?" brigade visiting the website.
2. They're mostly inaccurate now.
3. In the AUP it tells you not to name specific sites but there's a section of the website listing them specifically. Seems a little contradictory?
4. The sites listed might get better if they're not posted on here.
5. They may not get closed or visited by the police if they're not listed.
6. You'll only get to know locations if you show a continued interest in the scene.
7. You're not handing out a list of sites to the Boy Racers.
This post contains the traditional "Just a thought for discussion.. not a criticism of the SH website" caveat.

Dogging Locations - Why are they listed?

It does seem a bit anachronistic at first glance - but there is method behind it.
Most of the locations listed in the 'bumf' of the site are pretty much general knowledge, and freely available on a large number of sites on the Internet. It is unlikely that removing them would have any impact at all on umm, 'visitation demographics'
The key thing is to keep currently active sites out of the public eye - hence the ban on exact locations on the fora, which is very much 'up to the minute' information.

A little bit of a back pat to Mark here... SH appears to be the main font of knowledge for would be doggers. The listings are very specific... The surrey ones certainly are. Why the discrepancy with the AUP?
It certainly wouldn't bring about any gains in the short term but perhaps in the long term it may take the heat off of the many 'ideal' sites listed. I can't see any benefit in them being listed.
This all seems very self-righteous and high and mighty considering the dogging listings were the thing that brought me to the site in the first place.
but as a counter argument, if they hadn't been listed, maybe I would have felt a greater commitment to getting to know people in the forums first and then, when I did, the sites may have been better as a result?

We do not want location details and the times or meets etc posted on the forum - as Kat says, this is very up to date info and tells would-be trouble makers exactly where to go to cause, errrrrr.... trouble
. We do not want to stop people finding out about locations, and yes, the dogging site list does bring in traffic - but I doubt removing those would stop the fancy a shag brigade - after all, it only takes a bit of reading around the forum to find out the gist of what is really going on. This question has been asked and debated several times before, btw.

i say post them, then the idiots will frequent the ones posted, leaving the real locations nice and quiet.
We should take the Lake district view of dogging, theres loads of quiet places in the Lake district without tourists, they all visit Bowness & Windermere etc.........keep em all in one place
