Driving tests

I took about 20ish lessons before I took my first test - then failed.
4 years later I tried again, and it was about a dozen lessons before I took the test again. Then passed cool

It differs from person to person. Your instructor will tell you when they feel you are able enough to take the test - then it's up to you smile

I passed second time round - key was just keeping cool and thinking about literally everything that you're doing in a calm way, most things are easy when your mind is focused on the job wink

So how did you get on Mich??? You really needed to shag your driving instructor just before the test. (calms you down) and yes I am an instructor. biggrin

i had 2 lessons as me dad taught me off rode years before i was of age ,me instructer was a cany guy and made me less nervous on the day to ,like been said go postive

Hi mickandmich, you have my sympathies... it took me 7-8 times to pass my test, so i know exactly what you mean.
You'll get there in the end, if i can pass then anyone can lol

and the best thing is that when you do pass, it will feel so much better than if you passed on your first test (and between me and you, i think drivers who take longer to pass are better drivers) wink

My license is like gold dust now though, i hope i never have to go through the whole test thing again..ever.. confused

But believe me, when you do pass it will feel so good!

p.s. my sister recommended i took a herbal remedy to calm myself down (called 'calms') you take them a few days before your test, and continue for a few days and it definitely helped me, and helped her pass aswell.

I passed mine first time and that was after he let me redo the reverse around a corner as I hit the kerb the first time redface

I hasten to add it WAS 20 years ago when the test was just 25 minutes driving and 5 Highway Code questions confused

I know it's a lot harder now as I took my very first theory test last year when I did my CBT for the bike :scared:

I took my own car to the first driving test, bad mistake ... because examiners HATE that! he failed me on not checking blindspots 3 times, he said I had a near miss with a padestrian - wish these tests are video'd as I swear I'd have seen one (had already been driving for 10+yrs, and in possession of 2 foreign licences and not a single accident of my own fault). so next time (in a different city) I booked an instructor on the day of the test, drove around the test roads and then gave the test in the instructor's car - Pass!
lots of acting required in the test tbh, over-acting sometimes.
