just go in to the shop in disguise..... brave it out hun, not worth invalidating ur warenty to save your bushes!
Depending on the unit, there may be a very small hole below or to the left/right... stick summat small in there and it will pop out....
Failing that, if its out of warenty then most units only have 2-4 screws at the back, slide the top forward, then physically push the draw out
Also while the dvd draw does seem to be "stuck in" its only by the cogs and a very small motor, you can prize it out against the motors causing the resistance.
well dvd players are very cheap now around 35 quid it depends how naughty the dvd is stuck in that player i think i would smash it open and buy a new one
take it in and tell them ermm
my son has sent me in, to see if u can fix his dvd player!!
worth a try!!
i bet that will be the first thing the repair shop does lets see whats on this dvd and make a copy for ourselfs
Most CDs and DVDs with a slide-out tray can take a fair bit of abuse before they break, so you probably won't do yours much harm if you try the 'brute force and ingnorance' approach, no matter how out of character that might be for you!
First, look for a small hole somewhere near the tray opening that is the right size to stick an unrolled paperclip into - 1-2mm or so across. If you are lucky, you'll find one of these, and pushing an unrolled paperclip into the hole will cause the tray to open enough for you to grab and pull gently but firmly. Make sure the power is off, and unplugged first though!
If you don't see the hole, you'll need something soft enough to wiggle in to the gap round the tray but strong enough to put a bit of pressure on, sharp enough to fit in small gaps, but not sharp enough to scratch things, with which to poke around the edge of the tray to pull it out.
Luckily, the bit of a biro lid that is meant to clip onto things is the perfect tool for this job!
Get poking about, and you should be able to retreve your DVD safely.
You would be amazed Judy how many systems come back with porn stuck in em... Im a PC man myself but from what I saw over the repairmans shoulder when my DVD died (I'm too cheap to own any DVD porn so that wasn't stuck in there luckily) it looked very like a pc drive.
Thats where the ideas of the emergency eject ideas are coming from (The small hole at the front) I have not seen them much on comercial DVD players, only PC ones, but you could be lucky.
I would say that replacing the unit may be an option if you can afford it. However before that you may want to try to take it apart carefully, keeping a note on how it comes apart and you should be ok. (Obviously unplug it all and leave for a short while) It all comes down to how easy you find this techy stuff. Wish I could be more help, but this one of those hands on things where without sight of the unit it hard to know how to help.
Wish you luck with it.
