I'll be thinking of my Dad tomorrow as much as I think of him every day. I used to love Father's Day but now it makes me realise how much I miss him :cry:
I hope all you Dads out there have a lovely day and to those of you spending time with your own fathers, cherish them. kiss

Just one thing to add I know everyone's circumstances are differant and it's not really my place to comment but a simple thing like a phone call of your child means a hell of a lot, even to us macho male types wink

For those who are missing their Dad's today..
Here's a verse I wrote about my dad that I think applies to so many people...
For most men their life is a struggle,
They wonder how theyâ€™ll even get by,
And mine is certainly no exception,
In fact Iâ€™d even be tempted to cry,
Then into my head comes a vision,
Of a man who always came through,
He kept trying and pushing his boundaries,
â€˜cos he just knew what he had to do,
Ever loyal to a family that loved him,
He strove on with a heart that was glad,
Reason is- he was setting an example,
He was my ever faithful Dad.
In memory of all dad's who've passed on --- you're all missed so very much.

My daughter has just phoned her daddy though even though I wanted to treat him with exactly the same respect he showed me on mothers day... guess that makes me the better person and I should be sitting here with a smug grin on my face but I honestly think that their "daddy" is the one who is sat here next to me and who they insisted on buying a card for because "he's like a daddy to us"

thanks for last night hun) & your children will be very proud of you.
As for what sheddy has said, it is a day for children to show their dads how much they love them.
Since my dad died, my outlook on life has totally changed. I don't take things for granted any more, I tell everyone I love how much they mean to me as often as I can coz its hard when they are not there any more :cry:

This time last year my Dad was undergoing treatment for cancer, this year he is fit an healthy and in remission. I know how lucky I am to have said Happy Fathers Day to him today.
Make sure you tell the people around you how important they are to you today! Don't have any regrets.
