As an animal lover I'd say keep it, but as you really didn't want any pets I'd say hand it over to the local rescue otherwise before you know it the thing will be sleeping on the middle of your bed, washing it's backside while sitting on your clean washing, leaving hairs and presents everywhere and bringing mice in at 3am!

Without me little mate.
The vet told me she was well over 10 years of age and basically was dying. Pathologically thin, kidney failure and had severe mouth problems. I know I had offers of homes for her on here and it wasn't a cost issue for me, it was really what to do that was best for her.
So thanks for all your advice peeps x
