Not having to pay was in regard to those of us who were already members of this site before the change over took place. I don't remember the cut off date, but think it was around mid Novemeber.
Anyone who joined after that date would have to pay in order to make contact, post on here or place an ad etc and from the look of your joining date, you joined way after so would be required to pay to use the site.
