Enquiry re Xanadu and Manchester clubs

We have been going to a club for a while - we are fairly new to this - a little adult club experience but not a lot - my wife Marie is shy and needs a few drinks to relax - she is a fantastic dancer and dancing in sexy outfits with young guys helps her get into the mood.
We would like to try a new club, Manchester is near enough to get there but far enough away that we wont meet people we know so we are looking for advide or experiences/comments on the Manchester scene.
I know its hard to say what someone else would like but we are looking for somewhere relaxed, friendly, with plenty of young guys, dance floor, DJ, and close to main hotels ie near city centre. Xanadu seems to fit the bill. On searching the forum, not all comments were positive - what are people's comments? Also, which night is best for singles? All other things being equal, Friday evenings would be best for us.

Ermm its closing down soon sorry .
And i have never wanted to go given the bad reports about it on here .
Cupids however is going strong and is a freindly club and can get a good mix off people there .
Also partners not so busy but great wet area and liasons but thats ferther away .

Thanks Debz - info very helpful, especially if its closing! I dont know Manchester area well - how near city centre is Cupids as we have to stay at hotel and use taxi? Is there a dance floor? Website says its near centre but directions seem to suggest its not that near?

ermmm its not that far from manchester center its in swinton that will give you info .there is a few of SH people that go tuesdays nights ..

think its 2 or 3 miles thats all from center

Cupids is only a couple of miles from Manchester centre and is easily enough to find. DEFINATELY a better place to start than Xans.

when we go to cupids we usually stay at the premier travel lodge just 3 or 4 mins by car. friday was quiet this week but still a good night. wink

You are in a very similar situation to us.
Like Marie, my wife Sue likes to dance in the clubs but most dont have this facility.
We used to go to Xanadus when it was more a swingers nightclub. But dont go anymore for the same reasons most couples have stopped going.
We like a club in Blackpool called Passion, check out their website.
What we need in Manchester is a decent swingers nightclub.
We could recommend Bookbinders in the city centre which is not strictly for swingers but weve had some fun in there and met a few guys and couples who were once regulars at Xanadus. Its a great nightclub, excellent for dancing and there are guys in there looking for couples and single women to have fun with.
