Sorry to say that one and thruppence isn't was a shilling so 15p would be 3 i remember pounds shillings and pence and glad we don't have all that silly bollocks now

A shilling was never 5p. It was 12d. When the currency went decimal on April Fools Day (I kid you not) 1971, things that used to be worth a shilling were suddenly worth 5p, but there was never 5 pence in a shilling.
One and Threepence is fifteen pence. (That's 15d not 15p)

What the younger peeps (and no offence meant)seem to forget or do not know is that we did have "1/2 a new pennie" (for what it was worth) in the early days .
