When this forum has gone through quiet phases in the past, it has usually revived itself again. But that was before the era of facebook, twitter, etc, which are two of the increasing number of alternative ways members here have of keeping in touch.

The above taken from another thread. So who does use Facebook or Twitter to have SH friends on? TBH I ask as I dont have a single one on mine lol Only have FB dont do twitter. I see the main problem being having swing friends on the same page as family friends colleagues, or do you create a second account? You wouldent exactly be able to update your status to "off for a threesome tonight" could you  Maybe I am missing someting? For myself personally I just feel having swingers here and the rest there i.e. Facebook is better and safer.
i have family and swing friends of facebook, but those i add also know this and behave themselves just as i would expect them to if they was to bump into vanilla friends on a social night out rather than at a swing club when its known what is going on and in the environment that swing takes place.
certain behaviour is accepted on social nights just like certain status' are not right on a vanilla site like facebook and twitter
Twitter is purely for work purposes, Face book however is split into purely vanilla on one account with the other account being just for swing purposes- thus allowing me to be the shameless cheeky filthy man slut i am on here wink
I don`t use either, I only do msn and then I only have 2 contacts, who needs friends innocent
I use facebook....have and although do get occasional question from family about how do you know this or that person...in general works fine and not had a problem.
Although do know alot that have two accounts, this enables them to maybe put up more risque pics maybe !!
We both have swingers on our friends list on FB. However, we do so because we feel they really are friends. These are people we spend a lot of time with and have become genuine friends over the years.
We always remind people it is purely a vanilla account and that our friends and family are on there. I've only ever had to remove one or two people because they posted comments a bit close to the mark.

I'm on your FB account and not once have you offered me as much as a cheeky boob squeeze- i'm beginning to question your definition of genuine friend
:huffs: :flounces: :shufflesbacktoseeif*her*hasherboobsoutyet: :rude:
I have a Facebook account that's almost exclusively people I know from here. It's not in my real name of course, cos that would be daft, wouldn't it, making your private life available to anyone with an internet connection in your real name? confused I really don't use it, partly cos it's blocked at work, partly cos the novelty of yet social website soon wore off ((( I was possibly slightly jaded about the whole social interwebs thing by the time Facebook really kicked off? :? ))) but mainly cos I can't get anywhere near it at home. Ta very much Farmville! mad
I had a go at that twitter thing once. Kinda demands you encapsulate yer thoughts into 140 characters or less dunnit? Never been very good at that whole succinct thing really? :? lol
N x x x ;)
I don't use Social network sites- hate them
I'm a member of a sibbling site to this and was in-undated with friend requests from members of S4i when I was on Facebook.

Pretty much this for me also.

 Me too.
I have a facebook profile for swinging friends and acquaintances. I only log on now and then as I've just not been bitten by the FB bug - I am sooooo last century lol
In addition to that, I have nothing to hide on there, those that aren't swingers, either know, or I would have no problem knowing. But the friends from swinging that I have on there, know the value of discretion, and my private life is not plastered for all to see.
And also, whether I have played with anyone, or would like to, the friendship is most prominent, the swinging makes no difference whatsoever.

Errr, looks like you're right
between the different sites i encounter all the swing bods on i've managed to confuse you with someone of the same first name who also seems to have a slight cat obsession :haha:
I'm still up for the enhanced nipple tweaking though :rascal:
Thanks for the replies so far.
Only two people have said they have a FB acct for swinging use only and one of said they really dont use it. So where does FB replace SH as has been suggested on various threads? Maybe it that people stop swinging and just become friends. Maybe FB is the SH retirement village lol I think that may be partly the case or maybe also for those that are already in a sex circle as it were that they no longer venture out of dunno
For the record I wouldent have an issue with having the odd swinger on my FB account but what I couldent do is add loads which to be fair is unlikely when your me  I know that one day someone would ask who such and such a person is and on the spot I wouldent have an answer. Was at the pub once and there was an hour long conversation about a lady who added about four of us to her friends list and claimed to be from our school. No one could remember her. Turns out she just looked a lot different and was using a married name :-?

And me.
My facebook is a mixture of family, work colleagues, and friends. Just cos some of those friends happen to be also on swingers sites is irrelevant. I don't use Facebook for swinging, in fact, I haven't used swingers sites for swinging since 2008, so the whole swing v vanilla issue is no longer an issue for me.
I probably access Twitter a lot more than any swingers site or Facebook over the course of a week. I use Twitter for work stuff and random rants about all sorts. Most of my Twitter followers are spam bots. I like to talk to myself when on trains.

Sort of, maybe, along with a certain other website lots of forum users buggered off to that I'm not allowed to name, going by a recent thread on there anyways? lol ;) It's dead on there too though, as are the Facebook groupie forumish type things inhabited by our particular circle of people we know from SH and elsewhere. Think we've all gone back to the pre-Web 2 Point Oh 20th century way of doing things, and just use, like, phones and emails and PMs to talk to each other? ;)
N x x x ;)
I don't do twitter cos I don't get it but I do have facebook (in my real name). I have family and friends on there but I don't have any work friends on there. I work in a department which is spread all over the country so I dont socialise with people from work in real life, why should I socialise with them on t'internet? I do have quite a few people from SH (and other sites) on my friends list.
The vast majority of swingers on my facebook we have met and class as friends, some we have played with, some we haven't. I definitely wouldn't say that we add people on facebook as we are retired swingers .... we're sooooo far from retiring!! We don't use facebook for swinging we use SH and the 'other' site for that.
I don't worry about people asking where we know people from. We were both in the Army and know lots of people from all over the place so no one asks. It's no-body's business anyway.
As for status updates ... Why would anyone put "off for a 3sum" on facebook? I did put "gone doggin" once for a laugh but that's all anyone sees it as. One or two of our vanilla friends know that we're swingers and I'm sure the rest wouldn't be surprised. I do put a few risque comments on my status but most people who know me know that I can have a bit of a foul mouth anyway so people (swingers and vanilla) just comment and have a laugh. I have blocked my kids from seeing my status though.
I never write anything crude on other people's status and never tag people in photos and expect the same. Once or twice, people have taken it a little too close to the bone and they are no longer on my friends list.

Perhpas you are right Neil, Was just curious TBH. The other site you talk of though, cant be the one we go to thats incredibly busy on the forums all the time Id say busier than the SH forum has ever been dunno I actually dont use it as its too busy, would never keep up and dont have the time.
Think I have gleamed what I wanted to know from this thread. One or tow have said that some comments have come close to the mark and people have been removed. Thats enough reason for me to think the way I do things now is right for me/us. I like swinging chat here social netowrking there biggrin

As one of the two, I should probably add that my FB profile isn't really used for swinging as such. I use it for random spurts of one liner silliness with people I've already met but I can't imagine how I would use it to replace swinging sites as a way to meet new people.
If I wanted to arrange a meet with someone I already know, I definitely wouldn't do it through FB messaging, even if I was logged into it at the moment pervery struck - I'd head straight for their PM button on whichever site they're on instead. It just doesn't feel like the right environment for anything other than mild flirting and banter.
I have only one FB account and it has mostly people that I "know" from here.
Although I do have vanilla friends on it, I trust my friends from here to not leave anything dodgy on it, just the same as I would never do the same with theirs.
It's quite simple really ,if ah don't trust them then I don't add them and vice versa ah reckon.
