I liked the one for catfood, where the mouse wears the kilt, and shows his bits to the cat and gets flipped off the lid. those on tarrat tv are the best...a few are classics like the one with the hole in the girls shower room into the guys sauna...?
Hmmmm haven't seen that last one....
I saw the one for Catfood....yes, that is another classic one....
And, one for the ladies, the Diet Coke Ad!!!!!!! Mmmm mmmm mmmmm
I like a lot of adverts, especially the ones where one of my friends are in them. I can't say names but he always chooses the funny ones to be in.
I don't mind the micky taking adverts from other well known brands. I.e. The Frey Bentos advert copying the Diet Coke add.
Watching the Honda Ad where the car parts make a long chain was good. Except that the car at the end wasn't much. I would like to watch the 30mins Russian (I think it was Russian) movie using house hold appliancies.
What are your thoughts on the adverts that show a few times and then start to cut bits out so th company can save that little bit of money. Until eventually all they do is just show an ending and the logo.
They are made that way to tease and make you want to find what the ending is...annoying shits aint they...some are really good though, better than the TV programs!
Among my all-time faves have to be those Flake ads from the 70s. Phoarr.
Also the Pepsi ad from the same era (lipsmackin thirstquenchin acetastin highwalkin etc). I can't imagine why they don't put it out again, especially in these retro days of Starsky and Hutch fims and the like.
I always loved the original adverts for Barclaycard with Rowen Atkinson, these went on to spawn the spoof movie Johnny English. But it may just be that I love Rowen Atkinsons material...
Cant remember what the ad was for think its for a car but there is parent/child role reversal---- the neighbours thing----- cars in the drive-----kids talking to one another like adults------it ends when one family gets in the car and dad suddenly disappears and the boy says ---- thats right dont forget to go to the toilet LOL
Adverts have spawned some of the funniest things on TV.
My favourite is the 'Refreshing Change' strand for a well known lager, especially the one where the ducks attack the duck shooters to the strains of 633 squadron-brilliant. I agree with Carpy about the John West fighting bear-hilarious.
John West Salmon is a classic !
Only available on the internet and for some reason not going to be shown on TV, is an ad for the Ford Ka's Evil Twin. It involves a tilt and slide sunroof and an inquisitive cat... ....I won't go into any further detail, but watch it if you get the chance. ( sorry but I've lost the url for it )
I've seen the Channel 4 swearing ad once. It might have been on Film 4, but it was definitely late at night.
It took me ages to work out what they were. I thought the first ones were teasers for some upcoming "100 Greatest"-style show.
Sorry - showing my age here
But it has to be the Martians and the Cadbury Smash adverts!!!!!!
Does anyone remember some of the adds from a while ago? (And, some of the 'alterations' made by naughty little schoolboys, which seemed so funny at the time? )
For example, from 1900 and frozen to death:
'Trebor mints are a minty bit stronger'
to which we added
'Stick 'em up your arse and they last a bit longer.'
Seemed hilarious then: what happened?
And some of the visul adds: I still have a tin advertising sign-found at the back of an old shed-which proudly boasts:
'Smoke Craven 'A': will not affect your throat' (Obviously thought throat cancer came from breathing fresh air then!)
Yes Arti I seem to remember having a giggle at the suck a fishermans friend advert, These hideous sweets were flavour of the month at school for a while and produced fits of giggles from a class of teenagers every time a packet came out of a school bag.
Davej I used to enjoy sucking fishermans friends   and Smash still giggle when I see old clips.
The Hamlet ad's were always good especially the guy who played Rab C Nesbitt...with his combover.
