Favourite Band ever..Fleetwood Mac, the original Peter Green line ups and favourite ever track, Albatross.
Too many favourite songs to mention but a few that spring to mind:
Niel Young-Like a Hurricane and Harvest Moon
Van Morrison-virtually his whole back catalogue
James-Sit Down
Stevie Ray Vaughan-Crossfire
Santana-Samba Pa Ti
Poco-Rose of Cimmaron
Allman Brothers Band-Jessica
Obviously a child of the 60s and 70s confused

I used to date a man who listened to Neil Young all the time.. and Journey. I quite liked some of the tracks.
Hmmm tough one. The trouble with bands and the music we remember so fondly is that barring rock and roll style deaths they may carry on and never burn as brightly as they did.
I used to be fanatical about Oasis and then later Pulp. Pulp have gone and Oasis' current output bar the last album has been underwhelmingly received.
It's good that the great bands you remember no longer record or perform. eg The Stone Roses. How f@ing brillant were they?
I mean look at the Rolling Stones now, how many more millons do they need. There now on there "My step-daughter wants an Island" tour.
The Who, who famously sang "I hope I die before I get old" are touring! But what a fantastic catalouge of tunes they have to perform.
Oasis were my favourite, Now I'd have to say that my favourite band is The Rapture, Get online and check them out now you wont regret it.

I don't think I can answer that.
Even in my teenage years I never had a particular favourite.
I've always like a variety of music and some of my favourite songs are from quite different artists

ok lets rephrase it which band do you have the most music of or you listen the most to:-
the bands i have the most cds of and listern to a lot are Metallica and Pantera, alway loved both band from being a teenager and still listern to then as regular now, tho my fave cd at the moment is come whatever may by stone sour but they newer and have done less stuff than the other 2 so not really a fair comp lol
This week (well, most weeks actually ! smile )
Neil Young
Porcupine Tree
Led Zeppelin
Rush
Jeff Buckley
Counting Crows
Mike Stern
Now = Muse
Before = Clash
and loads in between

The list (I have to have a list as there are far too many for me to have an Ultimate Favourite song lol ) goes in Artist Album (in bold) song(s) order....there are more but I can't remember them (and my music taste is "Dodgy" according to some rolleyes )

Favourite band ever...
Marc & the Mambas.
I have a huge list of bands I love, but this part of Marc Almonds career remains very very special to me.
A whole slew of others would include, well, Soft Cell and Marc solo, of course, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cure, The Cramps, The Buzzcocks, Crass, Gary Numan, The Fatima Mansions, Alien Sex Fiend, The Smiths (but not Morrissey solo), The Jam (but definitely not Paul Weller solo), The Specials as well as anything Terry Hall was in, and Tricky.
And Bjork.
And Nick Cave.
And Clint Ruin.
And...
I'd best shut up...
X-Ray Specs
or may be RHCP
or may be Funkadelic
or may be .... god I could go on - I better go and rethink this one confused

I so wanted to put X Ray Spex in my list, too smile Got to love them!
Well I consider myself a music aficionado....or an anorak as I'm told at work ;-) (not selling myself am I lol)
But fave artist of all time is Bob Dylan who I'm going to see next week. Also love Bowie, Jeff Buckley, Otis Redding and Serge Gainsbourg....but currently rediscovered New York Dolls which'll probably please the many punks that have responded

Oooooooo I've heard of one of those, Bigothguy! Bauhaus have been around for years!
Current favourtites of mine are My Chemical Romance and Lost Prophets (comes from having to listen to them constantly from the kids' bedrooms).
However, all time favourites would include Queen, BonJovi, Def Leppard, Thunder, Van Halen, Guns N Roses and Savage Garden. Quite partial to Il Divo too.

them...thought meatloaf was a him.
Queen worship
Guns N Roses :worship:
There are too many to list, but those two would certainly be at the top.
This is difficult but here goes:-
Led Zepplin - Whole Lotta Love (vol set to 11)
Joni Mitchell - Clouds
The Who - 5:15
Bee Gees - Stayin Alive
Deep Purple - Perfect Strangers
Greenday - American Idiot
Son of Dork - Party's Over
The Jam - Going Underground
Otis Redding - Try A Little Tenderness
Glenn Miller - Pennsylvannia 65000
Ask me again another time it would be different by far its a mood thing.
I really like too many bands to be able to pick out THE best.
Plus, with me being stuck musically in the 80’s at the latest, most people tend to associate the groups I like with now rather than what they were creating in, what I regard, as their heyday!!!
But, if push came to shove, I’d be able to cut a list of hundreds down to two groups whose music will always ‘do something’ for me :-
Status Quo (their pre 1982 material and especially live) banghead
and Rush (everything before 1989) cool
Indeed some bands were very clever before becoming commercialised. I was surprised with ZZ TOP and Slade before their popppy images. Heavy rock with clever timings etc.
Most modern bands still use the same basic amps and guitars etc, so they are still finding music within that kind of sound. So I think they will always have some music that appeals to just about everyone.

Yeah and when you get the girl singing with him it kind of becomes a 'them' and of course there are the other musicians. 'They' then become a band.
smile
For 25 years on listening pleasure
Hey you, don't watch that
Watch this!
This is the heavy heavy monster sound
The nuttiest sound around
So if you've come in off the street
And you're beginning to feel the heat
Well listen buster
You better start to move your feet
To the rockinest, rock-steady beat
Of Madness
One step beyond!
I banghead forgot :banghead: ACDC :banghead:
rolleyes
I really need my memory sorting out!
lol
no doubt about it - has to be Pink Floyd - I can remember making love to Echoes when we were courting
