sad Thought we were all set to meet our first couple from Swinging Heaven tonight. They just cancelled due to illness. It is such a let down after we have discussed it together over the past few days, decided what to wear etc, etc, etc. Anybody else empathise?
Poor yous.
Yeah I feel for ya. We have a date tonight with another couple (we have seen them before) and I am feeling like crap at the moment, however, we are still going! It's just me that feels shite, the other three in this equation are fine. How unfair would it be on them, if I cried off?
*hugs* to you both.

I think it kinda depends on whether you feel like you're gonna spray diahorrea all over them...
I think it's par for the course these days (in fact all days).
Don't get too down about it, just make tonight a special night in some other way.
I agree with the person earlier who commented on them not feeling great but going anyway. IMO, when you arrange to meet someone, there's a fair level of decency involved and other people's expectations and plans are involved too. Better to go along and say "I don't feel great, but lets see if we can make things better, or just get to know each other better anyway"
Surely anybody in swinging must be mindful of the number of timewasters etc, and would go out of their way to avoid ever being perceived as that. (I'm not implying this is the case, just making a general comment).
Anyway... better luck next time, and have one hell of a good night tonight regardless! You can improvise... women do it soooo well ;-)

Question is though would the other parties involved thank you for passing on what could possibly be a cold, the flu or any other infectious disease???
Also it's a little unfair to expect someone who is not feeling very well to "perform" for want of a better word.... I know that if I feel under the weather the last thing I want to do is do some horizontal aerobics....
Hope you can arrange it for another time Redbird, it's worth it when it does happen kiss

That was why I said 'just get to know each other better' is there's no physical ability under the circumstances (due to illness).
But surely, it's a decent thing to offer to come, and let the other person say "no, stay home and get better", or even "well, no problem about playing, come over anyway, and we'll just have a drink" etc?
Must be me, but I'd be mortified at letting someone down.

Some people really go in for that sort of thing though, dont they??
hehe probably better though than spreading the germas all around. Hope it works out better next time for you as my wee granny used to say "whits fur ye'll no go by ye!" biggrin
Personally if we had been the other couple, I would have felt deeply hurt that owing to illness we had called it off, but you felt the need to tell everyone confused
I know you haven't mentioned their names, but as you say they are members on here, don't you think it a tad tactless that they will no doubt read this post? rolleyes
I hope the person who is ill will be feeling much better soon smile

I'm not sure what you're driving at RedHot; all we know is that some attached person who uses this website is ill. It's not as though anyone's going to get identified from a description like that...
If it were me, I'd be rather more offended if the person I was hoping to meet wasn't disappointed that I couldn't make it.
There's a lot of the dreaded lurgy about at the mo'. Commiserations Redbird. I think I know who the real losers are.
It happens in this lifestyle and in other areas of life, we often make plans only to have to cancel because of hubbys work or lack of babysitter. Just because it happens a lot, doesnt mean i get used to it thou, i hate it and feel thoroughly fed up.

If you're ever in London, get in touch, we can show u some sights! lol
big hugs
I always think the best part of being let down is the kissing and making up part.

Thanks for all your replies. Que será que será is all I can say. We stayed in and got a dvd. There were plenty of intervals for snogging, fiddling, groping and refilling the g&t glasses. A lovely evening actually.

Tough luck Redbird :( . Mind, if they cancelled.......... that's much better than standing you up smile . Nevertheless, it is very disappointing when it happens. I have two couples that I am currently chatting to in the hope of some fun, & if I meet just one I'll consider it a success.
Shit happens but that's life sometimes. Keep trying, it's just a numbers game and if you feel disappointed 99 times out of a hundred, so what! The hundredth reply might change your life forever (if not for an hour or two!!).
Hope you enjoy success xx
Aw.... never mind........ there are good times ahead lol
